Hi, the most popular domain names I know are as follows:
1. Traditional Top-Level Domains (TLDs)
.com: Still the most popular and trusted domain name in the world, especially for commercial and enterprise purposes.

.net and .org: Continue to maintain steady demand in the technology and non-profit sectors.

2. Emerging Generic Top-Level Domains (gTLDs)
.ai: With the explosion of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, .ai domain names will continue to be popular among technology companies and startups.

.io: Still the first choice for technology, programming and startups, especially for developers.

.app: With the popularity of mobile applications and web applications, .app domain names may become more popular.

.web: If widely promoted, it may become a new universal choice.

3. Industry-specific domain names
.health / .med: The rise of digital health and telemedicine may drive demand for these domain names.

.crypto / .blockchain: With the development of Web3 and cryptocurrency, these domain names may grow.

.game / .metaverse: Gaming, VR and metaverse-related companies may choose these domain names.

I guess a little sidenote would be that .ai and .io are ccTLC's, not gTLD's.

.web: If widely promoted, it may become a new universal choice.

If .web ever comes out, I just see it as just a worse .NET.

Also, unlike .NET, Verisign actually owns the extension.

I guarantee all the best terms will be reserved with high registration/renewal fees attached.

3. Industry-specific domain names
.health / .med: The rise of digital health and telemedicine may drive demand for these domain names.

Most of these types have not really caught on. The demand is generally not there.

.crypto / .blockchain: With the development of Web3 and cryptocurrency, these domain names may grow.

These will become irrelevant when the Web2 versions come out, that actually work without the need of any special software or settings.

ICANN won't care about the current use.

If these parties want the Web2 versions, they will have to win a very competitive auction.

Whoever wins, it kind of makes these Web3 versions redundant. IMO.

However, Google now treats them as gTLDs.

Meaning that Google don’t consider .ai or .io as localised to a specific country, which would limit a website’s ability to rank in searches unrelated to that country.
