In Feb of this year I was ill and was not paying attention to my domains.
I recently checked them and found that I lost one that I was intending on developing. Since it dropped someone else has purchased it.

Do I have any recourse? :td:

Thanks.

Your best and only bet is to try and purchase it. I would recommend not mentioning this story to them at all -- sure there are a few understanding domainers out there but there are probably twice as many who are going to double, triple, etc the price when they hear the domain has value to you.

And before anyone recommends legal action, be advised there's no guarantee of getting the desired results either.

the only way is that you can get from the new buyer by payng some extra money.

What would you do if someone lost their Domain Name and you won it in an Auction, and that individual email you about their DN?

Being a Domainer, you should have known better.

Welcome to the other side of the table.

Exactly right.

Pay up if you want it or move on, other fish in the sea.

Cheers!

If you consider yourself a 'domainer', then -

Being a Domainer, you should have known better.

Welcome to the other side of the table.

Did you check behind the couch? Sorry, I had to say that after reading the title ;)

As others have said - you have no legal recourse or anything. You let the domain expire and someone else registered it.

Sorry to hear you were ill, and it's understandable to lose a domain by accident (I never have but have heard of a fair few domainers who have forgotten to renew the odd one).

Just try and contact the owner and see if it's for sale. As Reece suggests, don't mention that you used to own it - he may just raise the price.

I was managing over 1,000 domains and unfortunately had a heart attack and no wireless in the hospital, darn.

Sorry to hear about that, your main concern should be to get your health on the right track. That just my opinion.
