LLLL.net's and the speculation

I wanted to know how many were bullish or bearish on LLLL.net's. Personally...I am bearish. Mostly because of CCC.net's. If you compare them I see a lot of similarities.

CCC.com sells out...starts hitting high numbers....people begin speculating on CCC.net's and they sell out too. CCC.net's ...go no where!

LLLL.com's sell out...start hitting high numbers...people begin speculating on LLLL.net's and ....well this is today.

LLLL.net's are not yet sold out but what call will there be for GZQW.net?

Every year I am more and more convinced that anything but dot com for speculation is worthless. For development there are certainly good alternative extensions but for domainers that rely on parked revenue or resale value this might be another bust.

Time is always a factor and eventually we may see the CCC.net's and LLLL.net's rise in value but the wait often kills those with empty pockets and a lot of drops occur further delaying the rise in valuations.

Bullish or Bearish??

Bullish, with obvious reserve. I see a future, but I do not see a future for QXZV.net (nor the .com)
Maybe VeriSign will run some advertising for .net and get it jump started. I jsut don't think the .net extension is well enough recognized. IF, big if, four or five big companies adopt .net domains and promote the .net website, then maybe we will see a little pickup. Or even a more plausible scheme would be have a couple end-user sales (x,xxx) of a mpbb.net type names or something

I'm not buying anymore LLLL.net's at this time unless they are 'special'. That being said I have about 1500 in my portfolio. About 10% get steady traffic and about 1.5% earn steady revenue (.50-$1 a month). I've sold 3 between $3## and $600.

Right now I'm sitting a bit in the black for this year (for LLLL.net's) and only need 2 more sales to cover next year.

Can't beat that. Well done.

Any chance you can give us a sampling of your better quality LLLL.net's that earn.

At present, agree with Jesse + bmugford. A little bit on both sides :|

The difference between CCC.net's and LLLL.net's is that CCC's are purely domainers tokens so of course the .net version will suffer disproportionately, look how few CCC.com's are actually developed sites, LLLL's on the other hand have better end-user potential. Doesn't necessarily mean that LLLL.net's won't have the same fate as CCC.net's, only that there is a potential fundamental difference.

WAYO
AECH
BBEE
DCCY
MEGN
HIIY
KMLE
FMMY
GRRY
GSSY

These are the top earners not top traffic.

Looks like repeating middle letters convert well. I haven't done any analysis to see what the keywords or acronyms are.

I'm bearish for low quality ones, yes, still, I see many $500 + sales everyday, so... it's just a mater of putting those up for sale and wait for an every now and then end user sale.

If you're still looking for type-in revenue on LLLL.net/.com maybe you didn't really get how all the "short domain" thing works...

I wouldn't buy an LLLL.net unless it was a word. I don't think they'll go much of anywhere for a decade.

Agreed. If .net is normally valued at 10% - 30% of .com value, and LLLL .com is valued around $30 minimum, you don't have a very good name, and won't for a very long time.

Until more and more "legitimate" end-users are utilizing three-letter .nets (which haven't made any leaps in growth within the past year), four-letter .nets will go nowhere.

I see more companies with acronyms realistically going for LLLL .com or LLLL .org. I know of more organizations that are four acronym letters long that would use a .org extension than I know of similar organizations using the .net.

Like usual for acronyms-- :imho: -- .com > .org > .net.

Also, I wouldn't compare CCC .com to LLLL in any extension. LLLL can genuinely be used, while in most cases, CCC are simply collector's items for domainers, as rkbdomain pointed out. :tu:

I really like QUALITY LLLL .nets. Words, nice acronyms and CVCV's. I have been lucky and was buying CVCV's before the curve so I was able to purchase some nice quality ones at a great price.

The way I see it the .nets are there for people wanting the .com but it might already have been developed or the owners are just asking way to much so the net becomes attractive. Its a cheaper option that still delivers net presence.

As for the CCC thing. I sold all my CCC.com's last year as I didnt really see any end-user potential (sure they have gone up in value) but other than being 'rare' I just don't see potential **except for ones that have some sort of meaning or are very pleasing to the eye. I would never buy a CCC.net ** bought one when I was a newbie thinking it was a 0 instead of an O (so yes I have one lol and renew it every year out of spite to remind myself to not make stupid mistakes!)

I can't wait for all premium LLLL's to be bought out in all major extensions!!!! Start buying those premium org's folks :) Thats when you will see prices really rise as endusers will have no option but to buy from resellers.

good luck, g-

-cut-

$30 is the average price of a very low quality 4L.com, and I wouldn't buy zyqv.net as I wouldn't buy the .com counterpart for that matters, simply because I can't see a potential use as an acronym, but for premium 4L.com, which nowadays goes for about $400, the 10-30% rule would mean a $40-$100 for an equal 4L.net more or less. That wouldn't be bad, right? What do you think about "premium" lettered LLLL.net?

Those are fine, just so there are developed sites using them and end users willing to purchase them. :imho: I don't own any personally, but I'd be more apt to buying "premium" letters in an LLLL .net to follow LLLL .com's trend.

I agree with this statement right here. These bullish names are already selling for over reg. fee..ZXQW won't make it big for a long long time, if ever. Then again, even repeating letter 4L.com like ZQKQ aren't selling for very much these days considering ALL 4 letter .coms are taken
