Mr. Lawyer, you should have bagged that one. It is has the most up and coming potential that you spotted!!! Ah man, I hope you have some really good ones you have not told us about. If provided the information you had, I would have sold my home for Laser.TV if I had to.

Today Plasma TV, tomorrow Laser TV. The technology is changing very fast, I would't pay $5000 or even $1500 for laser.tv

I may be crazy for being a dot tv enthusiast, but only invest in sure things. That is why I did my research and recommend that others do the same. Betting on Laser TV seems like more of a fool's bet:

talk about a change of heart silicon....

One post and you are all over Laser Tv - the next you are cursing it out!!! Aren't you glad you didn't sell your home??!!

I agree with Zig Zags theme - tv technologies are not worth regging because they will either be obselete in a couple of years making their resale value a whole lot less valuable, or they will be absolute flops - making them even less than reg fee worth............I certainly would not pay a premium..and am not impressed by regges like Plasma.TV.....this is already a technology expeiancing a lot of difficulties and is losing out big time to HDTV.....

As always, IMHO......

I might be a little confused - I just have a plain old rear projection tv -but my understanding was that "HD" was just a reference to screen resolution and that HD was available in both plasma and lcd (incidentally I would love to own both lcd.tv and plasma.tv! so we differ on that one Millers)

Silicon's post is a good one though. The listing of the company promoting this certainly does bring out some intersting news stories regarding the legitimacy of the company and its prodct.

All in all, though, the company might be a dud but its the technology I'm interested in.

There is a lot more information on the web about this today (albeit mostly rehashes of yesterday's press release though) but it does appear Mitsubishi have produced a prototype laser tv - see the attached press release (from April)

http://www.mitsubishielectric.com/news/2006/Mitsubishi demonstrates laser HDTV.htm

Anyway who knows, it's early days. It's a speculative reg though, no question.

...and why we're debating this issue...http://digg.com/hardware/Laser_TV_unveiled_2

and the developer's website http://www.novalux.com/

ok last post.

I think the smarthouse story might be a little harsh as they seem to imply that Arasor are producing the tv - they're not. Arasor produce the chip, novalux have developed the laser technology.

Once again, who would know. Time will tell.
