hi

How i lost $40 from a sale just now--

I was having a domain eplata.com listed for sale at Sedo and through their Mls partner Godaddy.
Got several offer and finaly accepted $100 through their partner Godaddy.

Now just transfered the domain to Sedo account and they took $50 from it.

Now i lost $40 because my domain was registered at Godaddy and i got the offer from GD itself. Actualy I could save $40 if i just delete it from Sedo and list it directly at Godaddy as even selling at $100 resulted me $10 comisson to GD and I got $90 as a credit instead of now getting $50 from Sedo.

It was due to my silly mistake or say lazyness.
The domain was certain to sell becoz E-plata.com, e-plata.net and recently eplata.net was registered by using privacy Whois. So it was clear that any end user wanna to have this.

I realise this mistake after accepting buyer offer but let the business run ethicaly.

your view??

seeing as how you had all that pre-info about those other registrations, and it was "clear that any end-user wanna have this" then....

maybe lack of confidence in all that "speculation and probability", was reflected in your asking price....is what caused you to lose $40

if you had sent a higher counter offer, to the $100 bid....maybe you would have got more.

imo....

yah once dot net registered via Whois proxy it was cleared someone is there to have this.

Actualy i was not asking more than $100 because in last 6month of parking it earned $0.45. So it was cleared folks are not searching for this term even if you look back the history of this domain you will find how many times was it deleted.

But due to its inharent meaning i registered it as it means electronic silver(plata in Spanish) and when you chech its history at upname.com you will find there were no buyers for it on ebay at $5 once.

So i was not exicted about it but may be someone has seen the developing potential in this name and decided to have it may be a Spanish Fellow??

Well, I believe you also missed out on a golden opportunity. With the increase of gold and silver, you had that going for you. Not to mention that, in most latin american countries, "plata" also means Money. It could have so many uses, although that depends on the end user.

If you ever have more of these spanish type domains, make sure to know the meaning of the word in different countries/continents, or you will be missing out.

Just my $0.02.
