In past roll outs we'd have been talking about all the corruption and stealing going on. As it were, we haven't heard none of that with this particular domain. The sunrise seems to have gone off without a hitch. They reserved the best names for auction (not all at once), and they got some early adopters on board (businessweek, BMW, etc).
It's refreshing to say the least. Hopefully it will continue. If .mobi does become the default TLD for mobile devices a lot of potential for fraud and abuse could occur. If they do it right they'll put into play "safety" measures to keep the registry on the up and up.
