When I first heard about .mobi a few months prior to the landrush I thought it was a pretty silly extension and had no intention at all to buy any .mobi names. I was still getting over the .eu landrush fiasco and could not see past that at the time.

However, the solid belief in .mobi that some people had caused me to take a second look at this extension.

Fortunately, I saw the light in time to get in on the landrush and the register 50 or so names. That turned out to be the best investment this new domainer ever made. Not only have I made a solid profit but I still have a decent little portfolio of .mobi names for the future.

So thanks to you .mobi believers. If it was not for you, any mention of the .mobi extension would only remind me of a missed opportunity. I could not imagine what it would be like to see foxnews.mobi advertised on fox news and realize I might have missed out on a great opportunity.

The mobile web and .mobi both have a long way to go, but I'm much happier being a part of it then I would be if I was on the outside looking in.

I would not know what mobi is if not for Namepros - certainly would not have learned much about it on that other forum.

Things are starting to accelerate in mobi-land, I see many reasons to be optomistic.

I have to agree Neo, i found out about .mobis 2 hours before launch, i was so green at that time. But i regged some great names.

That is great, I hope you both got in early enough to register some nice .mobi names.

Sadly, I missed Landrush for .mobi altogether - only came in a few months later. Even then, I was a bit reluctant - and hand-regged a few names, then a lot more...

Then, for awhile, last year I kind of wandered away from .mobi completely....But, for some reason, I returned to bid at one of the early .mobi premium name auctions at Sedo, and won some names....

It was then I found NamePros - and then another place that has heaps of .mobi-lovers....That's when I began to research & learn a lot about the mobile space....and .mobi's real potential in it. I became a real believer - and have invested seriously in it.

Let me support neo in this - and, add my thanks to all you inspiring folks...I think .mobi is going to be huge, one day...:)

I was looking for a domain name for my business when I stumbled across the news that dotmobi was launching (about 3 days before it did)... then I couldn't log on to reg any on the 1st day (I used a crappy registrar)... then I spent the next 72 hours almost entirely online researching & regging (almost blind as I knew nothing at the time)... & haven't stopped since....

I have every faith that the extension will come good & in a big way! I was in a phone shop yesterday & tried an iphone just to see what the data speed was like & it was pitifully slow (I certainly wouldn't want one) & that just demonstrated to me that the time is yet to come.... no boat has been missed; we've simply caught the dawn express service & arrived early!
It will be another 2 years before speeds are good enough for a widespread explosion of the mobile web; that's 2 years for us to all set out our stalls & prepare for the future...

By the way, I tried BBC.co.uk & it loaded soooooo slowly! Then I tried m*****.mobi & it loaded in less than half the time... proving that mobile compatible sites (on whatever extension) will attract users simply from the speed perspective alone)

Still plenty of time to get on-board; plenty of impatient early birds who can't hack the wait.... prices are still very affordable... fill yer boots! ;)

I don't see better speeds hurting the extension either, .com limped around with 28 and 56k modems for quite some time.

Better speeds will just mean more options for .MOBI

Kinda hard to fit all the belongings of 54 Room mansion into a 1 bedroom Condo.

It's better for both if they each work with their own square footage.

.....Hmmm. Mansion, Condo.

Two different Names, Attributed to Two different Sized Properties.

....Interesting Concept.

I guess we'll have to wait a couple years to see if it'll catch on,

....No wait a minute, that's that .mobi thing.

Luckily I was notified about the mobi extension a month or so before landrush. I ignored the emails at first but looked a little closer & then said..
Wait a minute! Great concept, I'm in.
Now I'm enjoying having them come to life /
Many folks bashing the extension but if I bought Google at IPO price ,$85 and you said Nah that'll never go anywhere & then you see it at over $500 + dollars would you tell me Ahh that's great . nah .Human nature for folks is to downplay & cast shadow . bring out the negatives & not the positives.

Wait!! I think that's a comparison to what I hear about .mobi by some folks who are kicking themselves in the ass for not jumping in.

That's OK !! there's still time to get on the .mobi train & get into a revolutionary extension for the mobile web..
Naysayers are the ones that are truly kicking themselves .

Regards, th
