INVEST.mobi was a great buy. I plan on developing this site, as I see invest.mobi's future to be bright. I think the name is better than any on this list.

imo...that's whats fuelling .com too...large comapnies like marchex or peeps like Rick Schwartz buying great names...seems like the same to me...

What he's getting at is that it's not evident that there's much of an end-user market besides .mobi enthusiasts. Basically, the extension is not maturing much from these sales, and it probably won't until a lot more sites are developed. Premium domain auctions help, but until they get a solid level of mainstream interest, it's still just .mobi enthusiasts setting their own rate of increase on .mobi domains, which may in fact be keeping the domains FROM more people who will develop on them (evne though this buyer thankfully indicates he will develop this name).

.tv is an example of an extension that, while there's still plenty of room for more improvement and maturity in the market, is finally making its way to the mainstream audience. If eNom would realize how the premium reg's are crippling the top end of the extension and just auction the names off and set them at normal reg fees, then .tv may rise above some of what's holding it back.

As of right now, if I wasn't a domainer, I would still not know about .mobi, and that's the kind of thing that reseller-to-reseller sales aren't really helping. Hopefully this buyer does in fact develop the site and it does well, because that's what .mobi desperately needs to get past the inevitable hurdle coming when most people's mobile devices/cellphones navigate standard .com sites fairly well.
