Just got a neg on eBay for "slow shipping".. the auction ended Sun., Dec. 30th and I shipped after New Year's in the morning on the 4th via Priority Mail. It irks me that people can leave whatever feedback they wish and it can't be removed... sucks!

fairly understandable why you did that, don't they have vacation?

Can't you work it out with them, and you guys can agree to remove it?

Just got it and sent him an email.. I don't understand why he waited this long to complain or why he complained. Maybe the package was delayed.. but I have a receipt showing I shipped on the 4th, plenty reasonable IMO, considering the auction ended on a Sunday and there was a postal holiday in there too, lol.

I hear ya on that one... I got a neg before cause they didn't like what they paid for a watch I was selling.. instead of asking for his money back he left a neg... Annoying if you ask me

I hate that. I've had my 100% stuffed up by 2 people. One didnt even pay but insisted he did, then left neg feedback, the other was impatient like yours.
Pretty unfair..

Agreed.. my brother once got a negative from a buyer who said she received her item broken when in reality, we had disassembled it for safe shipping (a gumball machine and stand)

Then again, I have to say I expected a neg once or twice and didn't get one.. once I picked up a shoebox of linen scenic postcrds (many dupes) for $15 at a yard sale. I took out 10 cards that I wanted and figured I'd at least get my money back on eBay and listed them. I've dealt in paper and postcards for over 30 years and figured if I got $20 I could consider myself lucky as there wasn't (IMO) a card in there worth over 25 cents. They went for $479. I sent them off, fully expecting the woman to throw a fit and expect her money back (even though they were accurately described in the auction). A week or two later, I got a glowing positive feedback: she was thrilled with them! (Go figure!)

Then, I came across another similar box of post cards, again all junk. A friend of mine from NY opened the bidding. I warned him off, knowing there wouldn't be anything in there he'd want. He insisted he knew "the market" better than I did and bid them up to $89 and won the auction. A week or two later, he emails me wanting his money back because they were "all junk". I reminded him I told him not to bid and he did anyway. He threatened a neg but never gave me one. Didn't talk to me for several months. (Again, go figure!)

Another postcard deal.. a guy bids up a Michigan sanitarium card to $150. The card should have gone for $35 - $45 at most. He complains about the price. We ask why he bid so high.. he said he put his max bid at $500 to be sure he got it. We made him pay. No neg...

yeah....you go where he is , smash his keyboard on his face and withdrawn it by yourself from his account.....pretty simple. :hehe:

You can dispute it and you can agree to have it removed by mutual consent but eBay will not remove it on its own. Even if it's removed, it still shows that you once "had" a neg and the numbers don't go back to 100% so ...

Mutual feedback withdraw is the most common, realistic way to get a neg removed.

Another alternative, if mutual withdraw doesn't work, is mediation through SquareTrade - costs like $29+ and not guaranteed, but in your situation it may be worthwhile.

I've had a problem with Ebay in the past and feedback. Mutual feedback will still show up in your profile, but it will be faded out.

Ebay will not remove the feedback. The only way to remove it is to have both parties come upon an agreement using mutual feedback....

Good luck,

I emailed the eBayer and he has never bothered to respond.. never heard from him prior to the complaint either.

Is he a beginner ? I've found it's beginners who cause the most problems by their unrealistic expectations. One guy opened a 'dispute' because his book didn't arrrive 2 days after I posted it first class, at a time when there was a postal strike and half of England (including my street and almost my house) was under three feet of water due to the floods. He says he never got the book but I'm sure he did.

Nope, not a beginner.. it really amazed me because I always go out of my way to send emails every step of the way to let people know where I am in the process. If he was dissatisfied, why not email me first? Apparently not enough fiber in his diet.. :p

Some people just live to whine on ebay. Mail has been very slow since the holidays and we mail the day after an auction is paid for. Had a guy in Italy put a Paypal dispute on a $5 item after a week!

Insane.

I haven't shipped anything overseas in years.. I think the last thing I did was a Mickey Mouse child's tea set to Japan.. hate filling out customs forms, etc. Not worth it unless the item goes over $100 IMO
