At lot of things have been happening here, to be honest, and I am still happy for everyone.. all the colors of the wind.. somewhat, I think no one is to blame..

I appreciate this forum as having been the best place to talk .mobi..

I actually was one of the first, first I know, people who did say "can .mobi generic domains be worth more than .com generic domains in the future (not businesses)" -2/25/07

in this heated thread http://www.namepros.com/dot-mobi/298479-can-mobi-domains-worth-more-than.html?highlight=.mobi+worth

Now, I do love it here..

And I think all is ok..

But, remember, domaining is a speculative sport in my opinion.. a domain name is worth "how much someone is willing to pay for it" or in terms of hotly held properties like dot mobis, or generic other extensions, I say "how much someone is willing to take to let go of it"..

before everyone gets heated up.. look at this recent article.. (I was fishing on Friday and saw on the cover of the Wall Street Journal 2 lines that business.com could fetch 300 million.. look here at Yahoo's:) )

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070622/wr_nm/businesscom_sale_dc

Now, no one is complaining about that? This speculation publicity actually raises the value of all domaining real estate.. could one great domain fetch 400 million today? Who knows? ..and I think .mobi speculation is no different in that it raises domaining as a whole.. (and I think the chance timely, for just Dot Mobi's sake, is warranted with 4 to 1 mobile phones to pc desktops) plus, as evident by the 400 million speculation, we can reasonably expect, at some point, all domaining records to be eclipsed in a 15 year old commodity that yields one registrant for all 6 billion people on Earth? In fairness, why not .mobi speculation, also? Of course .com will have a bigtime role in the mobile nix.. so will .cn and everyone.. how far .mobi can go, who knows? The sky is the limit for all domaining and I think we shouldn't use words like "never" or "always" too easily..

But if you want to, feel free! All I know is I am sorry.. and I am trying to be more quiet.. but I love to try to help and to bridge!

Beyond speculation, in my feasible real world, I can't buy a .com generic for hundreds of thousands; so, I am so into .mobi - as I would much rather spend all of as much as I have in .mobi or some other great cause for my life for the people I want to help..

So, I think it's OK to speculate.. "Can".. because in domaining's nature you have to be first to register the name! If you depend on waiting for mainstream approval or statistics/facts.. chances are the name won't be available or not affordable for you anymore..

This place is awesome.. think relatively.. this is the number #1 voice in the world for .mobi, and will historically be remembered as.. in its birth for mobile internet history.. and I am thankful..

I want to apoligize for all my craziness around/surrounding here..

..also, especially after the month I took off.. and in December when I wasn't here.. I just remember most how much I had to hold back to NOT post here.. as opposed to the times I did post here..

(..like, it was hard being quiet when MSN.mobi came out hehehe)

Well back to being quiet.. and meditating..

Thank you all through and through

Kind Regards,

Yelo

Well said. I wouldn't doubt a very prime generic (ie sex.com) could easily fetch 50mm in today's market. Cheaper bandwidth, cheaper internet = more users, more content,... The value of coms can only go up, making them even more unaffordable for your average person, domainer, and eventually, even most corporations. Will they turn to mobi? Who knows. Looking forward to this iPhone coming out though :tu:

Good post Yelo. This part is especially true:

So, I think it's OK to speculate.. "Can".. because in domaining's nature you have to be first to register the name! If you depend on waiting for mainstream approval or statistics/facts.. chances are the name won't be available or not affordable for you anymore..
