Is this a Scam? If not what is it? I don't understand.

Dear Customer,

MijnInternetOplossing B.V. has received a request from TransferAdmin [[email protected]] on Wednesday, Sep 4, 2013 for us to become the new registrar of record, for gezondroken.com

You have received this message because you are listed as the Registered Name Holder or Administrative contact for this domain name in the WHOIS database.

Please read the following important information about transferring your domain name:

You must agree to enter into a new Registration Agreement with us. Click Here to review the full terms and conditions of the Agreement
Once you have entered into the Agreement, the transfer will take place within five (5) calendar days unless the current registrar of record denies the request.
Once a transfer takes place, you will not be able to transfer to another registrar for 60 days, apart from a transfer back to the original registrar, in cases where both registrars so agree or where a decision in the dispute resolution process so directs.

If you WISH TO PROCEED with the transfer of gezondroken.com, you must respond to this message by clicking the below link:

Hi

looks like some has put in a transfer request for your domain name, probably in an attempt to covet the domain without prior your permission or paying for it.

"just don't click on the link" and forward the email to gd, letting them know that person submitted a transfer request without prior agreement to do so.

these situations occur quite frequently at godaddy, because schemers, scammers, phishers and the like....know that majority of "new" newbies use godaddy.

imo....

If this was an authentic email from the Registrar, i do not know how it was triggered in the first place if the domain is in LOCKED mode.

Even if someone tried to pay for a domain transfer, the Registrar will first check if the domain is LOCKED or not. If it is, then the guy attempting to pay for the transfer will get an error, and will not trigger this transfer request email at all.

Check the email code.

It might not even be a registrar at all, but some scammer.

Report this ASAP to your registrar.

I've probably done that accidentally by trying to transfer an incorrect typo of my domain name maybe 5 times in the last 5 years. Which has probably been less than 0.01% of all my transfers. I've also been on the receiving end of this. I just ignore the email and after a couple of reminders from them, they usually go away.
