Enom transfer request

I sold a few domain names on ebay recently, and despite having stated that I'd only push to GoDaddy accounts, the person who bought them asked if I could transfer them to enom. I really don't care who I transfer them to. But something about the transfer request is a little concerning to me. Specifically, the part where it says that I must agree to enter into a new registration agreement with them. The transfer request is pasted below, minus all personal information. I'll bold the part of the agreement that concerns me. Can anyone advise as to whether or not I should be worried here?

Thanks,
Gregg

STANDARDIZED FORM OF AUTHORIZATION

DOMAIN NAME TRANSFER - Initial Authorization for Registrar Transfer

Attention: -------------------------------------
Re: Transfer of -----------------------------

eNom, Inc. has received a request from --------------- on 12 Oct 2015 to become the new registrar of record.

You have received this message because you are listed as the Registered Name Holder or Administrative contact for this domain name in the WHOIS database.

Please read the following important information about transferring your domain name:

* You must agree to enter into a new Registration Agreement with us. You can review the full terms and conditions of the Agreement at

* Once you have entered into the Agreement, the transfer will take place within five (5) calendar days unless the current registrar of record denies the request.

* Once a transfer takes place, you will not be able to transfer to another registrar for 60 days, apart from a transfer back to the original registrar, in cases where both registrars so agree or where a decision in the dispute resolution process so directs.

If you WISH TO PROCEED with the transfer, you must respond to this message by using the following URL (note if you do not respond by 19 Oct 2015, -------------------- will not be transferred to us):

YOU MUST CLICK THIS LINK TO CONTINUE THE TRANSFER PROCESS

If you DO NOT WANT the transfer to proceed, then don't respond to this message.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact [email protected].

Not everyone all at once. I don't want to get overwhelmed by responses. It is a slightly urgent matter, though, so one or two responses would be ok.

I would insist on the godaddy push.

if the buyer accepts the push, consider making a minor change to the registrant name before pushing. this would activate the 60-day lock, giving you more time to work out any "misunderstandings".

That's a good idea, with the possible exception that it might result in the buyer cancelling the order. We're not talking about much money here. I'm just happy to be making a little on them and selling them before it comes time for renewal. The buyer has good standings at ebay, too.

Maybe some better questions to ask are:
1) How are eNom and Namecheap related, because they refer to both names interchangeably.
2) Are either known to be involved in scams?
3) Why would the link I'm supposed to click to confirm the transfer be transfer-approval.com?

I don't know much about these companies but I might be smelling something cold and slimy here, if you know what I mean.

Thanks,
Gregg

I would not be too concerned with this. That language above is standard on every transfer form from most known registrars I have seen. Do not worry about this...

However, please be sure that the domains from Go Daddy have passed the 60 day holding period. If they have not Go daddy will block the transfer.

Hi Gregg,

I have transferred names to eNom several times. This is the standard email that comes from them which you have to agree upon (click on that link). Approval will be default and you just have to click on submit. These emails come from [email protected] (perhaps this made you concerned)

You can go ahead and transfer the names. The email is legitimate.

Thanks
DF

Thanks DF. Yesterday I did some digging around on the internet and also came to this conclusion. Though hopefully a definitive answer like this one will help other people who have the same question. Thanks again for the reply,

Gregg
