Is there a wiki script that doesn't look like cr*p?

Is there a wiki script that doesn't look at crappy as all the wiki's I've ever seen? Something with better usability for non-wiki experts. And also, what would be great is a wiki that is built for inserting advertising.

I'm interested in finding a script tha works like Meetup.com, where people can set up their own groups. I know that Joomla and some social networking scripts have groups functions, but they look like all the typical social networking sites where it's just a lightweight function hidden among all the other functions.
