Is the Namecheap 'Premium' domain suggestion accurate? Are they actually premium domains?

If you have a list of domains registered on the registrant Namecheap,

When looking through your domain list there and under some particular domains the Namecheap suggestion says 'Premium', which is suggesting in their eyes that they are premium domains.

then is this just a suggestion in 'only their' eyes/ and is it an accurate assumption?

or just because Namecheap suggest it is a premium domain, it doesn't necessarily mean that the domain market (including experts who sell for 4-5 figures) will see them as premium domains?

Have you had experience from this?
Also if you have seen this with some of your Namecheap domains (premium status suggested) and you sold these premium suggested domains for a good profit,

then can you share your story/experience please.

Thank you

You mean the premium domains, that show up as premium on all registrars? They don't have control over that. If the registry considers them premium then they are premium and higher priced.

If they are sold by other sellers they also will show up as premium, but that is the case on all registrars.

Yes, Drongy is correct. Premium domains are communicated to registrars like Namecheap by the registry. The registry assumes a specific domain will be higher trafficked/more popular and thus imposes a price that Namecheap and other domain registrars must comply with.

Hope that helps.
