Sedo cites the following as one of the things to do to help sell the domain faster. However if you list the domain for sale, doesn't that help also create the legal case for squatting as opposed to holding the domain with plans to develop? And how much does it actually help to indicate the domain is for sale in WhoIs?

Change the public Whois information for the domain to let people know that the name is for sale. You can update the admin contact information to read: "Owner Name (This name is for sale at Sedo.com)." This setting is adjustable through your registrar. Domain-savvy investors may start with Whois; for secure negotiations, let bidders know up front you want to work through our on

I personally wouldn't do it. Parking it with them is enough to let "domain-savvy investors" as they said, to know it may be for sale - they can just see the namesevers.

They're just asking for more free advertising, plus they cleverly don't tell you that changing your name may lock your domain.

Or you can simply put a mark on the top of your whois info. :imho:
Just like this...

I don't know what you mean by 'mark'. What mark?

Well,
I put this 'CasualNames.com' at the top of my whois info, simply as a mark.
While the other infos are being protected.

So, anyone who sees my whois info should be directed to one way --> CasualNames.com

I think it's better idea rather than put a 'sedo' mark on my whois info. :imho:
*actually, sedo already put its mark as 'sedoparking' because I park with sedo*
