Is it worth buying traffic?

I've just launched a new website ( http://muaythai.me ) and I am finding it a bit hard driving traffic to it...

I've done my best with SEO optimixation, and I feel there's a good chance of ranking quite high on google for my chosen keywords (muay thai), but so far I am stuck in nowhere's land (about 20 visits a day).

What would be the best way to proceed?
I have issued press releases, listed the site with search engines... etc and even put a couple of articles on the net, but this is a bit of a niche.

I am now considering buying PTC traffic... would this help the site go up in the google rankings?
Or should I buy ad words initially (problem with that is they are expensive, and my site is purely an adsense and affiliate site, so it will never generate big revenue).

Would welcome any advice...

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

i would say do not buy traffic from any traffic trading company, it never worked for me.
You will get hits but the experience i have that they will stay for 1 sec and leave.

I would say use adwords, you can give your montly budget you want to spend.
Also exchange links with other webmasters here, do a lot of seo, there are members here that can help you with it.

In my past experience buying traffic, no good was done. It was a complete waste of money, so I do not recommend it.

Buying traffic is not great, it will increase your traffic but that is it. I guess it comes down to converting your users also, even if the traffic is low if you can get high conversions it is ok. If you really want to test the waters for the earning potential of the site I would suggest Adwords though you can sink alot of money into adwords very easily.

Why not consider placing an AD up on a martial art or any related niche forum, site, or blog which has lots of traffic? Also look for niche directories and submit your site.

I would say yes if its targeted traffic and not random traffic.

Buying traffic is usually a waste of money. I'd highly recommend trying another source of traffic generation, such as PPC advertising. :tu:

I went with facebook ads, since I managed to find a $100 coupon...

I know other people have said on these forums not to choose 'pay for views' adds, but for my chosen keywords this is working out far better than pay for clicks...
In fact, yesterday, for $5 worth of advertising, I got some 200 clicks... which is great given my site is purely an adsense site.

I would get active and post with your site's signature in some big forums for muy thai, since it's a niche community - you could very well get a handful of repeat visitors which are more likely to convert for you.

If you just need traffic on the first place Stumbleupon ads are affordable and increase traffic, but not the conversions though.

Thats the kinda thing you should be looking for to increase traffic, they may have a banner system cheap enough to place a text link or banner. I have and it brings in traffic.

Subscribe to a blog, as mentioned above, one thats very busy and reply to. Join forums and place a sig with a link to your website, then start posting very helpful threads and posts. This will help you get noticed and your sig.

just keep working hard my friend. seo results never happened on just an overnight. and on the tasks that you have done, those were not enough. do some social bookmarking, directory submission, online classified ads, and keep on forum postings.

One of the things that I do is buy posting on blogs or add my link to a blogroll or comment on a blog that has a higher google page rank.

HI

No it is not worth buying paid traffic..

Spend that money on some one to write articles for you for your website and then submit them to article directories..

Also submit your site to link directories and do ppc on google adwords and yahoo search...

Consistancy is key. Write a few keyword articles and post them on article directories. Also populate forums related tto your topic and use a signature file to get additional traffic. As blogs related to the topic. Just remember to stay active in those forums
