For several years I have been uncomfortable with the dollar as the main currency for dealing in domain names. My current problem with a Swift payment from the Name Silo market place has really brought this to a head. I've been waiting for over two months for payment for a $4,000 sale, and there seems to be no way to determine when I can receive this payment. The current US government seems to be weaponising the US dollar and the Swift system, and Trump seems to be trying to punish his allies such as Canada and the UK. I'm starting to believe that the delay in this payment may have been the result of the misuse of anti money laundering laws. In addition, it seems that there is an attempt to revalue the dollar gradually, this will reduce the liabilty resulting from the $trilliions of debt that the US government is unable to repay at current values.
The result of this is a problem we have in determining sales prices. It will be fairly onerous to have to keep increasing published prices to compensate for the decline of the dollar. It is obvious that the Swift payment mechanism is no longer fir for purpose in these times of political turmoil, BRICS pay is now available for over half of the worlds population, but I don't think it is available for me in the UK. A paypal transaction takes 6 months to confirm, and I have had problems with them in the past, so I do not wish to use them. Bitcoin would be the ideal solution, but unfortunately it is only used by a small number of people worldwide.
So my two questions are -
Which currency do you feel is the best alternative to the US dollar to use in sales listings?
Which payment service would you prefer to use to receive sales revenue?
