Is It Legal?

I have the name SCOTTISHCHEDDAR.COM and I would like to know if it´s legal for me to approach a cheese or food company about buying the name.

if there is a TM on the name than no, it's illegal, you would show a 'bad faith'
if there isn't a TM then you can offer that name to anyone...

You better sell it before those numpties in the EU decide to ban everyone from using the word cheddar in products unless it comes from Cheddar....It would'nt surprise me if they do !

I´m only french by marriage.
Scottish by birth.
I think you may be right about those numpties in brussels.
I was thinking maybe one of the big supermarkets might want it,or the scottish tourist board for that matter.
