Hello folks, just wondering if any of you have also noticed Afternic being slow the whole week reg. payout of sold domains, adding newly listed domains to your public domain listings, and/or replying to mails/messages?

Just wondering, never experienced such a slow week on their part since joining their platform..

Thanks, i wasn't aware of that but that could explain the slow week, even though i would expect them to have enough staff to provide some basic support even during holidays.

But alright, guess i have to be patient then

Same here, very slow! I had a transfer completed over a week ago. Transfer was handled completely by godaddy reps as domain sold there but was listed on afternic. They finally paid me yesterday after calling and sending various messages. They have been very slow responding to messages and paying out lately. It's starting to change my mind about them.

Also I've had 2 deals through afternic where buyers decide to contact my whois email directly as they don't hear back fast enough from Afternic. This says a lot...

I registered 9 new domains on there and they are still under review 6 days later

I have domains 'under review' for months. If I don't personally contact them they usually leave them 'under review' indefinitely. After a while it gets tedious so I stopped bothering.

Yeah that also. What I do is change the price and save it so it refreshes on their system. Then I change it back to the price I initially intended... They usually go through like this.

If your domains are registered with one of their premium registrars (especially with GoDaddy) then yes, approval goes very fast. If not, then there is some waiting period involved

I've had domains pending review for months. Yet when an inquiry comes in they jump right up to email me. Was listing at Sedo, Afternic, DomainNameSales but deleted everything from Afternic about a week ago as most of my sales happen direct anyway due to my sales pages redirecting to my own site and not a fan of cutting someone in when their only there when a sale is about to go down but can't handle basic job duties of approving listings.

Since Godaddy acquired afternic the service got slower.
I talked to them by phone and they said there are 8 business days and that I shall wait.
Finally they transfered the money after 9 business days.

I've had more slow transactions than fast ones from a handful of markets over the last 11 years. Got an inquiry direct last friday morning, few negotiation emails back and forth friday afternoon, started an escrow.com invoice friday night, guy paid saturday morning, wire in my bank within a few days. One reason I prefer direct as you can complete a transaction from negotiation to bank wire in 3-5 days depending on negotiation time and bank wire approval time from your bank.

I had a guy few years ago that emailed me direct and said he had been trying to make an offer from another market for over a week and never heard anything back so he got impatient. I picked up the phone and called the market and they were basically releasing me from their cut due to their incompetence and my yelling and were shocked that I knew who the buyer was as he got so pissed in waiting that he emailed me direct. Being the nice guy I am I let them close the deal $6500 and take their cut but after that deal I deleted everything from their market.

So it's not only can ya get an end user buyer on the line but can you also get a marketplace that is competent to close deals with some urgency. I do most of my deals direct as I don't feel anyone else is as detailed or on top of things as I am. Nobody will care about your personal assets more than yourself.
