I was wondering if anyone here has promoted their domains on the Afternic or Sedo homepages. Is it worth it? its $39 for 30 days on Sedo, and $50 for 30 days on Afternic.... and i am thinking about giving this a try. I would appreciate all feedback on this so that i can make an informed decision. Thanks!

end users buy our names

Yes, they do not need to put our names in a little box somewhere for the hope of selling it and charging us to do that. Also more than likely the true value of selling a name in that instance is lower than if the end users were bidding it up and not us, other domainers.

The names can be activly sought out when masses of people are DIRECTED to the auction house.

The trouble now is those masses of people are at home or in their offices having no clue millions of domain names are available within a budget for every size business.

Since we are NOT seeing that traffic come in we are desperate for sales and we think forking over money to them will solve our lack of sales issues. Nope. Only if we as domainers do what was done with pay per click parking recently.

What is that?

We have demanded that those who park our names change the way they do so by implementing the choice of keywords. The first ppc providers who did so saw huge returns as most domainers are flocking to list the names with them. Were you not tired of the landing pages having no revelency to your name and the outcome of that.. no clicks?

Then to we wanted the ppc providers to allow us to put real content on the landing page to make the site appear to be more of a real web site. Doing that we are making more money. So are those trail blazing parking providers who have implemented those requests.

So in the same vein we need to collectivly demand our names get seen by end users.

Of course many auction houses will lazilly ignore this request. But just like every business with a real need by end users, someone will step up to the plate eventually. When that happens their bottom line will zoom.

Also when that happens, that is where I will go, how about you?
