Is Afternic worth the $25 membership fee?

Just wondering if I may get more offers if I listed my domains on Afternic as well as Sedo?

Looks like I have to pay $25 to become a seller at Afternic--is it worth it?

Simple answer after 6 months of being a member - no.

The only way I'll rejoin next year is if they make it free like Sedo.

I just paid Afternic last month. It is too early to make conclusion for me.

No, not even before they raised their rates. Few hits/offers and no sales in 2 years, bad parking and Bazaar deabeats.

I would say yes, nice community and had a few offers recently, appraisal service needs looking at but on the whole its worth it imho ,hell, its only $25 at the end of the day!!.

I will definately renew

I must say NO
I don't expect to sell any domain at Afternic
I consider them an advertising source and not a real marketplace
Very few hits, their featured system (appraisal before the featured spot) is bad
The redesign will not do any good if productivity will not be boosted (and this needs features not colors and tables)

Thank you all for the responses--looks like a 'No'

So what do you all do to sell your domains--so far, for me (and Ive made a few sales) is Sedo Parking (i.e. waiting, waiting) and participating a few forums like this--what about everybody else?

I once thought yes. Then, after what appears to be my 3rd non-paying bidder in my last 4 "sales", I'm definitely saying no.

Simply No, unless you have really good domains.

all my sales have come from my own work or sedo, got my first bid after 1 1/2 years at afternic last week and a lowball in which I rejected, too bad it isn't stronger yet as the ease of use of listing your domains there for sale is pretty simple and they get added immediately compared to the verification to some at sedo, the more places you list the better, so I guess your call as to whether or not it's worth the fee, if you use the forum and the bazaar I guess that helps justify the fees they charge, no sales here yet though.

NO.
For buyers, it is not bad, but it is bad for sellers.

there simply is no comparison between afternic and sedo.
afternic is awful.
too many non payers, terrible parking, terrible interface...etc...
I wouldt use them if they paid me $25 per year to list my names.
the time lost due to members not paying is worth a lot more than $25...

Afternic, is pretty much a WASTE of money IMO, I havent registered , neither will. I get good offers from other sites.

So, I havent had to think of a paid alternative as AFTERNIC.

I paid $10 3yrs ago. It was useless.

its $25 now?

Afternic is not worth paying any money

Their parking Parking program is total waste. they're not improving anything there, i don't know why they wanted membership fees.

Useless domains won't sell no matter where you list them. Paying $25 is like buying another useless domain.

I think Afternic is run by few old folks who spend most of their time sailing and yatching not run by great managers. In that case Sedo is the true domain start-up.

GD luck.

BIG NO. Believe me when I say this.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I've gotten offers on Afternic that I haven't gotten on Sedo. $25/year for a pretty well-trafficked marketplace seems like a small business investment to me.

ripley.
