Bought a new .io domain through sedo last week a NN.io , bit of an investment and gamble but worth a shot in my opinion.

Anyone investing in .io domains? please feel free to share your investments.

Cheers

Sales updates for .io on Flippa

SNIPE .io sold for $999

NOVELTIES .io currently at $200 with 16 hrs to go

DON.io at $395 with 2 days to go,which is good to see names selling although, I guess it could have other meanings too. I own ABBEY.io, which I may throw up this week

ESCROW .io over $1000 3 days to go

TOYS .io at $1500 with 8 days to go. TOYS is a fantastic name no doubt, but I think I have comparable ones.

If Toys .io has a market for $1500 with 8 days to go, and Novelties .io is going to sell over $200, then I can't see, SKATES, CPUS(computers), or a bunch of the other single word .io's I have being worthless. I guess I will find out at auction.

Was technology .io available for reg, or aftermarket, backorder??
INGENIUS .io both the .com & .net are established websites of two different companies

I wouldn't put ~all your marbles into names like these. Opposed to a name like "ingenious.io" (the correct spelling), there's only 2 companies that you pointed out that would have any interest in the name. Far too limiting. The company on the .com could potentially have interest, but they already have the .com, they don't need the .io. I don't think the risk vs return on it is worth it.

I like Established.io though. Vague, but at least it has some branding and potential to it.

IOKing should have sold toys.io when it had a $4k bid on it. Crazy to turn that down.

Good sign that the Bidding is going strong on some of these

That name has been relisted and relisted and relisted for the last idk 6 months. It really doesn't signify any demand...only if the name SELLS (specific to flippa here) does it really hold much weight. Maybe if the name was repeatedly bid up to that amount being the key here, but it hasn't. So you can consider that bid largely a "fluke"

Beside's I just checked out the listing. It's for a portfolio of 10 names. If that's the case, it's likely none of those names have drummed up much interest, and he's just letting them ago.

The one and only name I would see any value in owning is Toy.io, possibly the plural, but not really. This is assuming that the .io extension actually has much in the way of value. And I'm not being a nay-sayer, because I own quite a few myself...it's just being realistic. Buy a .io because you like it, not because you think you can sell it.

Good sign that every seller of a .io is commenting on every other seller of an .io saying how great their .io.
Wreaks of desperation, imho.

More so when a lot of them are "NEW" users and a spattering of BANNED.

I don't see how end users would be at all interested in participating - the only strategy I see working out there is flipping backorders,,, or maybe some external marketing which a lot of people don't seem interested in doing

You're exactly right. To be honest, there's a "network" of commentators on flippa that all appear to like each other's listings. I have never once received feedback like that...and I don't care. I'm not saying I've listing anything premium on flippa that would deserve it, but I've certainly seen shit names on there that 100% don't deserve it lol. Ulterior motives....

You see the same people over and over saying things like "Amazing .io domain"...."Yet another premium .io domain"...."Wow what an amazing .io domain!"

It's annoying....spammy....and fake. And it's always the same people.

I have a quote to add...."Wow another amazing shill bidding .io domain!"

Webmasters.io

Would make a good forum or website design/development service. Also could be used for tools used by webmasters to monitor traffic, alexa rank, backlinks etc etc

3d.io - high bid was $4400 - reserve not met.

blogs.io -high bid was me at $225 - reserve not met.

Of course, one BANNED and one SUSPENDED bidder found in the blogs.io bids.

Seems like a good name, surprised it didn't go for more

Are you kidding me? That auction never got near my reserve. I don't know you you are, but, you've really kissed me off by implying that I'm connected to shill bidding in any way. I even deleted Dimitry Lewis from the comments because I didn't want his name near my auction.

You need to do a bit more research before trying to tarnish people's good reputation.
