Last year, I attended a trade show in Vegas and we were among only a handful of companies acquiring video content. This year was different.

There were ten times as many doing documentaries, news coverage, or reality television. Most were all doing this for the Internet. Of course, ESPN and SPEED were there (I am involved with the automotive industry and this was the biggest aftermarket trade show).

I have more info I need to get up on www.fyi.tv this week so you can read some of the latest headlines and some .tv sightings that will be of interest to the .tv community here. I continue to learn of new Internet TV operations that have $XX million dollar budgets when I attend events like this and speak to other directors and producers.

It is shocking that some of the content they actually produce is piss poor, but I can never seem to get the confidence to tell them that (and I do not want to ruin the relationship).

In the past, we have had two camera crews covering this particular show, but now the show has grown so much that we cannot cover just the content that would be of interest to our viewers. I am struggling with the decision to come out of pocket more and bring out 10 camera crews and go one step further with live streaming video. This would be a huge step for us and will require a tremendous amount of research on my part since I know nothing about streaming live video.

If you have are a .tv owner, whether speculator or developer, I suggest you hold your .tv names assuming they are keywords or have big potential. If the Internet is still in its infancy (and it is), then the .tv domain space and Internet TV have only just been conceived. My inbox is filled daily with updates on Internet TV and the recent YouTube transaction has garnered incredible exposure.

Stick with it and it will pay you dividends...

That TV Internet is exploding is not being disputed, whether or not .TV will be the EXT to handle all that traffic is........thats the gamble, the risk for all of us on this forum.......YouTube being bought out for 1.65 billion is a whole lot less exciting to me than Budweisser launching their BUD.TV network.........
hence I totally agree with the new sticky thread regarding .TV in the news - strictly .TV , to the exclusion of all else, i.e articles relating to the frenzied activity in the content rich companies jockeying for position ......etc etc...whilst that is all well and good, it does not inform me whether or not my gamble on the .TV ext is any better or worse.......IMHO
