I agree that the Brightcove setup looks good but is it not very expensive??
I'm also not that sure there is anything they can provide that you would not be able to do yourself with the right software & a few well trained staff IF you were financing a large scale, videocentric website.

Anyone used Brightcove on a developed .tv yet??

Yeah i have seen a number of sites that use brightcove & it does look great though cost is of course the major issue.
I have a terrible memory but do have a feeling that i spoke with a company that use brightcove a while back & costs mentioned were very high but we all have different definitions of what high costs are i guess.

From what I remember it is not an affordable option. In the high 5 figures.

One of the guys involved in our set-up had a few chats with Brightcove. The London office was useless, so he ended up talking with them in the US.

End result - impressed with the system but disappointed with the price (no fixed price - very 'how long is a piece of string', what are they worth, kind of set-up)

Perhaps Ooyala might be better!

Same response. When I checked it was prohibitively expensive unless you had very deep pockets.

Essentially not good for people looking to build a small portfolio of sites. There are cheaper, and even free solutions out there that can accomplish the same thing for a lot less cash, or free if you know what you are doing.
