Internal Link And PR

I always wondered about this - does the PR of an internal link influence the total PR of the domain? Can an internal link have a higher PR than the domain?

E.g. if www.example.com/example.php has a PR of 5, can www.example.com/index.php have a PR of 3?

or if www.example.com/example.php has a PR of 5, will the domain name's PR increase to 5 and above?

Thanks.

Domains don't have PageRank

Domains don't have PR. Pages have PR. So yes, an internal page can have a PR of 5 while the home page only has a PR of 3. An example would be if you posted something very popular or useful on an internal page of your site and people linked directly to that page.

A link from the (higher ranking) internal page can pass some PR up to the home page.

BUT, it won't increase the domain's page rank because domains don't HAVE page rank!

I've seen many a times that an internal page having more PR than that of the home page. That's because internal page has got so many backlinks.

Ok thanks guys.

Domains don't have page ranks...ok I get it, thanks.

I didn't want to use the words 'index page' because I remember a while back, one of my site's www.example.com/index.php's PR was higher than the www.example.com/ so I guess that's when I started to question whether or not domains have PRs and internal pages had them as well.

That, and the fact that I keep reading members at the marketplace looking for "high PR domains". :P

I think that PR is not about domain name it is abort certain page on your web site. That's why while you are talking about PR you need to remember about page not domain name

A domain will have PR if its an expired website for example, but it will diminish over time. Thats how it DID work, but today i find all my parked domains with PR are showing "undefined". So either Google has stripped the PR off parked domains with PR or for some reason i have been singled out for using whypark.

Either way Google U suck.

No, Homepage PR will be stick to its own PR and the internal pR will not effect to the main homepage PR at all cuz you internal PR high mean there are lots of different PR site link to that page that's why make that internal page rank higher than homepage
