Has anyone had success with .info's? I rarely see any of these in search results. They're real cheap - and probably for a reason?

I think the domain has to fit the "info" ext - i.e. place names, celeb names, common questions, etc.

If I see a person's name with high OVT (ie. >50,000), would you recommend getting the .info?

I think that .infos are up and comings. Right now they are still rather new but as time goes by people will look to .infos to build sites where the .com is already taken. Following that people will begin to reflexively give more weight to a .info domain as a reputable source of information just as they do now for businesses with .com names.

One problem with .INFO as I see it is that a lot of spammers and other unethical people tend to reg them since they are usually cheap. This may help to give .INFO a bad name.

.info is a logical extension and seems to be the fastest growing TLD in both value and registrations. One of the big problems with the extension is that many people do not know much about it if then even know anything at all. Hopeful this will change as more .info sites go live and are used in commercials etc.

I like them, I do agree that too many spammers are using them

My most successful site is a .info, and it does very well in its keyword space in the Google SERPs. Google doesn't care about extensions.

All my sites are .infos apart from 2

.INFO's are to be found throughout search engine results
PLUS they can hardly be called new anymore
they were Introduced in 2001

plus addressing the comments made by others about spamming.
I see as many spammers using other gTLD's and ccTLD's as I have eve seen using .INFO's.

All you naive and neophyte Domainers need to open your closed minds and embrace not only .INFO but all gtld's and worthwhile ccTLD's

.info's can,do and will make income .
.INFO is not a typo for EVIL

well as you can see .info's are now running out of good domains as well as others and soon the value of these domains will go high ... well low prices is not the reason why they does not worth that much ... the reason is they are new right now compare to .com and .net :)

have some .info parked , no traffic. One developped, not much traffic either.

Don't expect them or just about any other non-dotcom to be traffic names. The value is usually in the name, not the traffic.

I've sold a number of .infos at fair prices. Ask too much and they won't sell. Here's some I've sold

Yesterday - gwr.info $450

Other sales in past
calibrations.info $100
freshwater.info $325
woodfinishing.info $200
supportdesk.info $899
relo.info $350
urological.info $100

My largest .info sale was rafting.info, which I think went for $1500 a couple years ago. I've also had low to mid three figure offers on the following, but couldn't come to terms on a sale.

callers.info
municipal.info
rocknroll.info
wfc.info
cycler.info
laserpointer.info
divemaster.info

I've sold a whole lot in the $50 to $99 range as well.

You do have to be picky with .info's. I only get 3 letter, single word, good two word, or very good three word generics. If you can't think of what would be on the site developed for the domain in 5 seconds or less, pass on it.

Iโ€™ve watched the series and itโ€™s nicely produced but what really caught my attention is just how often they plug the RiverBelle.info website and just how smooth and identifiable the pronunciation of it sounds.

My husband used to be a broadcaster and he was the first to alert me to how identifiable the name was to someone like him whoโ€™s not interested in domaining. He suggested that if the marketing were there and given an extended period of time the namespace could surpass some of the better known extensions.
