I don’t recall seeing any sales in the .sc namespace. Google has nearly 1 Million results for it site:.sc but I wonder if any of them acquire traffic (with the exception of whois.sc) and or value?

I’d like to know if anyone has any additional information they can supply?

Well, whois.sc is changing it's name to domaintools.com.

That's a step back for .SC, IMHO. :(

JUST agreed to offer on SEDO for FOOTBALL.sc for 300 Euros. Badger has made more .sc sales than anyone else I have seen post. Casino.sc was just purchased for 2800 EUROS by our own JohnTV.

I registered Trojan/s.SC. and I'm still waiting for a rich University of Southern California Alum to get in touch w/ me and make an offer. (Geprge Lucas, are you out there?) As I recall, Badger sold USC.SC to someone for $300 or $350. I think that when Texas beat Southern Cal in the Rose Bowl and knocked them out of the national championship, the value of the domains took a severe dive. :hehe:

yeah, hello, sorry im late...

Ive sold a few and turned down more...

Sold : homes.sc, house.sc, usc.sc - all for mid $$$

declined offers on: who-is.sc, cars.sc and golf.sc again in the mid $$$ range (though who-is.sc i only declined because it equated to mid $$ after sedos rip off $150 fee)..

Ive developed airport.sc into quite a large airport portal - all set for world domination- based upon subdomains i.e. www.newyork.airport.sc , www.batonrouge.airport.sc etc etc

So its been an ok experience for me.. :)

I have a page at my blog (link in sig) where I've been tracking recent cctld sales, and I very recently recorded a sale for search.sc which sold for 1100eur at Sedo - if you get a chance check it out. It's located under "pages" - Recent ccTLD Sales.

Is this confitmed? Anybody? If this is true - it's a huge setback for .sc

Visit domaintools.com and you’ll be able to tell that it does indeed appear to be true.

It will set the namespace back, for the 213 most visited site (Alexa rank) to be shifting to a .com may stunt the growth considerably.

At first glance, maybe. I thought that too.
But on a more positive note it might widen .sc names to those who have only .com blinkers on. :)

from domaintools:
Dot SC now stands for ShortCut instead of source. The URL whois.sc/DOMAIN will continue to give great whois records, keep typing it in and it will always work. We have been accredited as an official registrar for DOT SC (the country of Seychelles). Therefore that domain will never get deleted or become a parking page. (The same advise we give our clients, renew your domains).

I like them so much I just bought nine more.

Hi Kimberly, I just read your thread and want to explain my interest in casino.sc mentioned by Equity. First of all I think I overpaid a bit. Second of all, but that is totally IMO, I think that in a couple of years the name before the dot will be relatively much more important than the extention (even more if you can brand the extension to make it more memorable).

For example, I saw wine.cc going on sedo for 1,000 and wine.com would probably be worth a few million. This difference is only because of the extension and (again IMO) is way out of line, especially as people will get used to more different extensions in the (near) future, like biz, cc, tv, info and in the future eu, asia, mobi.

So much for my plan to develop RSS.sc/RSSsource.com combo... Which is already in development. I guess I will have to pick a brandable/meaningless .com istead. Like ZEKT.com
Should I? What do you guys think?

Dammit... I feel betrayed and stabbed in the back.
