.Sc is the country code (ccTLD) for Seychelles. In the past it was also marketed to residents of Scotland and South Carolina. Probably the most famous .sc domain in the domain industry is Whois.sc. In 2006 they changed their name to a name you probably know, “DomainTools.com.” Namebio only has 63 recorded sales, I had […]

My immediate thought is this stands for Binance Smart Chain. I’ve been using this lately quite a bit. It’s a pretty big deal in DeFi crypto.

It is also a super high traffic domain. Dyna had reported $200 PPC earning and thousands of clicks. Any time somebody mentions his/her college degree, it gets a link.... I really wanted it but it went above my budget. I am sure it was a Parking Whale who bought it.

I sold one-letter .gl domain 2 month ago for $25000 via Sedo. That’s strange but no info about this deal at Namebio.

I think the shortest domains (L.cctld and N.cctld) becomes more popular, I have more offers via Sedo. So it’s good idea to invest in this kind of domains.

Congrats on that sale, I remember when it was reported by Sedo. 1 letter are a nice name to own.

ANy TLD or only few...

I have seen a few names pop up on auctions from time to time and they all go for XXXX even in the longest NGTLDs..

if the TLD is too long, the whole purpose of a short SLD is kinda moot lol

Only shortest ccTld domains are great. ccTld length is 2 letters, not more.

Oh yeah I meant like the poster was talking about L.cc country code

B.et sold some weeks ago at 100000$. But in the last years there surely were even bigger 1-letter sales just not published. I think there is big potential in the L.cc and N.cc. Our latest trades had some 10000€ but I’m sure we will see next 100k sales in this niche. Btw. I also noticed stronger interest in .SB last weeks

I agree with the above although there has been a "trend" for cctld registries to raise prices on (the registration of) single character domains (e.g. .tt .sc .vu etc.) which is synonymous of a growing demand for such "vanity domains" by corporations. I wouldn't be surprised to see another six figures (public) sale for a single-letter domain by the end of the year whether it's a .co .io or even .et.

Hopefully we will see. I also would say this type is definitly not only vanity. By my own experience I know that sometimes startups really need the shortest possible domains to make some new ideas work. We see this on examples like t(dot)co from Twitter. But though here it is "nice to have" for shortening, for some innovations like Ver1 QR 2D-codes they can become really necessary for making a technology work.

B.sc is a good name. As mentioned above, it stands for Bachelor of Science and there may be other possibilities as well. A short domain name has good value.

Will it be used for this purpose ? I supposte the premium renewal is quite hard, my highest is 500 USD/y, so it was bought by end-user? For an end-user a single precious domain at 70$/month of course is acceptable. Especially for a company
