There are 2 domains that I was going to register, but the .com and .net are gone. How good is the .info extension?

People either love it, or hate it. Personally I like it, but many people think it is spammy. It got very cheap and it is widely used for search engine spam pages.

So, the choice is yours :)

i think it depends on what page you wanne make. Do you have some more info about it.

If you are just building an website wih information i would use the info extension but if you wanne build a company i should suggest the com extnsion.

regards

My assumption is not that many people are fond of .info's. Like the other guy said, either a person will like them or hate them. Personally I don't mind them.

(You can get .info's at mydomain.com for $1.20USD)

if you are looking for name to develop a brand then .info not for you better take a .com. IF you are gonna make a information site like about homeloans, travel ,mobile phones etc then they are good.

Bluearrow has hit the nail on the head. .info doesn't work for branding but for informations sites .info is excellent.
