Value of .info vs .net domains

Hi guys. Is there an approximate value that .info domains are valued when compared to .net or .com domains?

For example, I know that WallClocks.net was sold for $2000 one year ago, on AfternicDLS.

I own WallClocks.info, so I'm wondering if there is a value I can pin on it, based on the .net sale that happened one year ago. Is it worth one fifth or one tenth of the value of a .net .. or ... ?

From what I understand, a .net is worth 1-2% of the value of a .com. How much would an info be worth?

PS: I understand that the WallClocks.net sale might've been to an end user and that a domain is worth what others are willing to spend on it, but still ... is there a way for me to calculate an approximate value for a domain if I know for how much it sold in another extension?

There is no easy way to calculate across the board. It varies depending on the type of domain. Nice keywords, Geo, etc are worth a lot more than 1-2% of .com

.NET is a much more popular extension for end users, and it really isn't even close.

I don't think there is a exact way to calculate .info values. It depends on the domain and end user i think.

I wasn't asking for an exact value. Just for an approximate one when you already know the value of the .com or .net :).

Thanks for the answers anyway. I'm inclined to value the .info domain that I talked about before at low xxx, about 5-10% of the .net sale that happened last year. Still no idea if I'm doing it right though.

There is no way to calculate a domains exact value - A domainer shall offer you a low price and an educated end user could offer a nice high price.

It really depends on the domain at the time - there have been high .info sales and high .net sales but it all depends who bought them and why they bought them.

Robbie

Yep. Its depend on the name of the domain itself

If this was about any other extension I would agree with all above, BUT I really do not like .net and can not see any value to it, if one doesn't have the .com.

:) imho.

You don't see the value to .NET? What matters though is end users do.

From my own experiences a .info domain is worth FAR less than a .net in general. Take your wallclocks.info. I honestly can't see this domain selling for much more than registration fee (sorry). The new .net owner may have overpaid for it a bit but certainly it's worth something. I have picked up and registered some .infos over the last year that I thought would sell to an end user or reseller quite easily for at least $xx-$xxx. To this date I cannot say I have had a very successful .info sale. Just my $.02

net is closer to 5 percent to 30 percent of the com typically 1/10 or 1/8 is average, but of course there are variables for each name

I'm not too sure if you're aware of the recent .info suspension/deletion spree by a few registrars owing to the increase in .info's being used for spam & other illegal services....

this has probably left a dent on the reputation of this TLD thereby decreasing its value even further...nonetheless, there isn't actually an accurate way of finding out value of a particular domain name.. :imho:
