Which one for the same word is better or worth more ?

i think .in is a little more valuable: less things to type, easier to remind and it works well with some words like digg.in , work.in , blog.in ...

my whole thinking about that was (as i was thinking there was a .uk) : if .co.uk was more valuable than the .uk , so it could have been similar for .co.in and .in ; but there is no direct comparison possible
personaly, i continue to think .in is a little better than .co.in but future will tell, i'm taking also some .co.in now

Yes, UK has a top level .uk, and .co.uk is a second level for third level open regs. :lol:

There is .uk ccTLD of course (must be as a top ext.) but Nominet does not make it available for second level public registration. But technically it is possible. Instead, some second level ext. are created (in limited number), as co.uk, me.uk etc., which allow public registration of third level names , as me.me.uk, london.co.uk etc.

The 2nd level names below .uk are specially allocated to government organizations and the like e.g:

police.uk
nhs.uk

They cannot be freely registered.

co.uk has yet to follow what .US, .CN and .IN have gone through; i.e. open up the second-level names for general public...Only then one can see if .co.uk would remain the preferred extension....IMO, in the long run, there is no logical reason why "sub-domains" of the primary extension (which .co.in is with .IN being the main extension) would be preferred over the latter. Its been already the case with .US and .CN...i.e. main extension taking the center stage........just a matter of time with .IN.

Yep in time but the .co.in will be around and extremely popular the growth of the .co.in is huge compared to its brother .in

An example

Google prefer the .co.in over the .in when asked and to back that up since registration you will find www.google.co.in as there main portal for india but they registered www.google.in to stop someone else from doing so. There has never been there website at that address.

BTW .co.in have been the most successful, both for sales and for CTR/PPC but who knows what the future may bring. :cy:
