Hello,
It was once explained to me that when searching to see the value of keywords it's best to do an "in title" search to see how may websites have the keywords in question in their website Title and backlinks.

I was told to Google ...

In Title: keyword keyword

but I was wondering is it necessary to do it like this below?

In Title: "keyword keyword" in quotes to get exact data?

I have to admit I'd rather do no quotes because the results numbers are always high compared to with quotes the numbers are significantly lower.

But if I do quotes. what does that really mean?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Intitle is one word - no space.
If you want to match or partial match the exact multi word string, use quotes.
If not, don’t use quotes.

Try both and see what the resulting page titles look like ;)

Btw intitle won’t show you anything about backlinks - sometimes sources use the page title to link to a page, but it’s far from reliable.
