Hey every one,

The internet continues to revolutionize and be accessible to millions of more people every year. Also, more and more businesses are shifting their focus online and to the global marketplace.

In the next 5 years..

Do you think new extensions will continue to be created?

Do you think premium keyword domains name will eventually lose their appeal to big businesses?

Do you think unregistered domain names will become extremely cheap to register?

Do you think squatting will become an even worse issue?

What changes do you think the domain industry will experience?

Keyword domain in credible extensions will have value for a long time.

Do you think domain names, in general, will no longer have an intrinsic value of more than a $1.

Of course not.

Do you think squatting will become an even worse issue?

With a bunch of new extensions, more than likely.

What changes do you think the domain industry will experience?

I think ccTLD will continue to be more widely adopted in most of the world.

Major change takes a long time, longer than 5 years at least. The vast majority of the world is still not online, and major companies have too much invested in domains and websites for domains to be worthless anytime in the near future.

Consider the fact 15 years ago if you wanted to learn how to take a stain out of your clothes you had to buy a book, now in 15 seconds or less you can have access to thousands of articles... The net is still in its infancy, mainstream has not even begun yet, I am noticing more small businesses grasping the advantages of being online, and that should be our next leg up for the next 3 years, people are not quick to change, other tld's will come, but .com/.net/.org will always reign supreme... Prem. domains will be like waterfront real estate, if not most already are.

I reworded my thread. I meant to ask, do you think unregistered domain names will be registered for $1 or so?
