Hi,

I was interested in regestering one or two .in domain names, so I was just after a bit of advice from those in the know. Is there any restriction on who can own a .in or .co.in? Do I have to be of indian nationality, or can anyone in any part of the world register one?

I'm also wondering which of the two different extensions is the most popular with indian firms, .in or .co.in, or alternatively which seems the most natural for indian internet users?

And can anyone recommend a good registrar for .in?

Thanks, SB

1) Open to everyone
2) I'd say .in because it's easier to type but that's just my opinion.
3) Resellers.co.in - owned by an NP member, I have a couple there. Cheap at $13.99 (.in), $7.89 (.co.in). Recommended by myself.

-db- also recommends them, as well as CheapDomains.co.in in this post.

Someone in the chatroom mentioned whiz.in earlier, cheaper @ $12.75 & $6.85 but I haven't used them.

Personally, I think co.in and .in are tied at the moment. Try to buy fewer domains, but buy both co.in and .in if you find a great keyword.
