Simple question NP!

If Line.com sold for $118,000 in 2012? Then how much is Line.Bet?

I think I've mentioned that I was lucky enough to Register Line.Bet and Roll.Bet

Just today someone contacted me with interest in both. I checked DNpric.es and it shows Line.com sold for $118,000 back in 2012.

http://dnpric.es/?dn=line.com

It's 2016 now. so what would the value of Line.com be now?
and
how (if if can) correlate with the potential value of Line.bet?

Line of course refers to "Money Line" which is a huge keyword in the betting industry referring to sports betting I think?

someone beat me to MoneyLine.bet but luckily or maybe not I snagged Line.Bet.

so can anyone help here?

does the price of Line.com have an viable bearing on the price of Line.Bet? I need some info soon because I told this potential buyer to give me a day or so to get back to him. Please help?

I know I can't sell .bet domains yet since I just got it. and I know I will need to wait 3-4 months at least. so no need to mention it. Thanks.

Just curious, why you need to wait 3-4 months to sell a .bet domain, is there a restriction for that extension only?

ummm I'm a newbie but some pro told me this was pretty standard MO for all new domain registrations.

at the risk of sounding like a REAL NEWBIE lol isn't this true? I also read it somewhere online too several times.

am I wrong in thinking this?

I don't think it's exclusive to just .bet but applies to all new registrations? something about preventing stolen domains from being sold illegally?

short answer, no

for a sale that happened 4 years ago, why would that increase value for just the .bet extension and not for all other extensions?

@Avtar629 You can sell a domain right away but you can't transfer the domain to another registrar in 60 days.

There is a 60 day transfer lock at every new registered domain, thats a general ICANN law (meant as 'anti grabbing' thing).
So you don't have to wait 3 - 4 months, but 'only' about 2 months.

ummm newbie answer here okay? because it's the same keyword?

plus Line I guess can mean anything but it's pretty brandable and relevant to the topic since it's .bet?

what am I missing?

let me know thanks so I get back to these people and act like I know what I'm talking about. lol

This domain has no value, imo. Unproven extension with a week keyword.

I see. yet "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and ultimately the buyer sets the price. correct? we've seen it plenty of times mentioned here. Ridiculous domains that make you say "HUH???" and we all moan to ourselves why didn't I think of that? lol

so are you saying if I simply show this potential buyer this line.com sales back in 2012 for $118,000 that there is no way this interested party wouldn't accept it as a reasonable assumption that if Line.com sold for $118,000 that Line.Bet should too or maybe $10,000 to $30,000 less at least?

I mean I'm all for .com's but most 4 character .com's are taken before I was born probably (maybe not lol)

I mean hey "unproven" the same can be said about .com's back in 1980's...I even recall Bill Gates himself saying that the "internet is just a fad". and he's the biggest geek there ever was! lol

if even geniuses can be wrong? then (insert the rest here) lol

thanks for everyone who has contributed to this thread. I appreciate it. I'm rolling the dice here. wish me luck NP.

You're way off.

My bet is your inquiry is an appraisal scam. I'd be very surprised if anyone wanted this.

best of luck mate, don't mind the trash you will get here just go with your guts you own a premium domain if not you wouldn't have been contacted early.

no no see it's someone I reached out to myself. I reached out to one of the big online casino developers in Europe and wouldn't you know it? they replied. although I'm assuming THIS was the domain they wanted since it's "my best" I thought. maybe it was one of the other ones in the list of 30? lol

my bad. out of the list this was the one my eyes zeroed in one. he didn't really say which one he wanted. I gave him just a random list. and he said he wanted a price. as of yet I'm wanting on him to let me know which one he wants. lol that's the entire story.

so scratch that idea that it's some appraisal scam out of left field.

Really, what are the odds one goes out and registers some off the wall gtld and bam!
A potential buyer contacts at once?
Just email him back and say you want $25,000.
Bet the answer will be:
My client is willing to pay that but he needs proof it is worth $25,000.
Please go here and get an appraisal.

You think it's more likely you're going to see 5-figures from a terrible 1-word .bet? Come on. Wake up.

hahaha. i appreciate the info iowadawg. but again this was not out of left field. This is someone in a company that has actual online casinos. asking me about price. That's all I know. I sent them my casino gambling list and they asked for price. which I don't have. matter of fact let me go get the list I sent them and you tell me which one you think they are interested in maybe? lol

one can hope right? still a free country right? where a man can have a job singing in his jockey's in the middle of times square ( Naked Cowboy!!) lol look not all of us can be PROS you know? but how many people have you heard had an domain that pros thought sucked then somehow it ended up selling for 5 figures? Impossible? if if happens just ONCE it's no longer impossible.

just like if a man climbs mount everest. once it's DONE it's no longer impossible. difficult maybe but not impossible.

hey all I can do is try right? so wish me luck? can we do that NP? if I can't get lucky with this sale? then what can the rest of us look forward to right?

so wish me luck?

by the way. I am thanking everyone who has responded here.

if you think the "potential" is that naive and gullible, then why didn't you just do that from the beginning?

imo...

oh because well I was in shock maybe? and super excited and didn't want to make any move without consulting the pros over at Namepros? first? I sold one domain without doing this and ended up losing money on the table. so that shows I'm smart and want to make sure I pass it over the Namepros litmus test.
