How much time backorder takes?

There was a trick to get domain for free on intuit. I over-used it and now i am in need of one of its domain. My CC details were fake so don't know if it is right to set back my account on intuit and go through account unlocking process. Domain is going to get expired on 20-aug-2013. So, if i do backorder it now. How much time will it take to get in my account? and how much time it remains off for business?

How do you know it isn't going to be renewed by it's current owner?

.COM domains drop on the 81st day after they expire. But they usually go through an auction first ending just under half-way through that process, depending on the Registrar. Then in the last 6 days they go through a Pending Delete auction where any drop-catcher can go after the domain when it drops. If it still remains unregistered after that, then you can hand-reg it at your preferred Registrar. If it is a desirable name you have not a lot of chances to hand-reg the domain.
