Hi, I was creating a project and i need the domain name nicarragua.com, i´ve been told that i should register it an it would cost me about $1500. I checked in goddady.com and it says this "NiCarrAgua.com is available as a Premium Domain Name!", i could spend just $1000 top, do you have any idea, can someone get it cheaper, i don´t know, maybe for clients or something. I would love some help because this is stopping my whole project.

Thank you so much!

i think $1000 is close enough to $1500 that you got a chance on that offer

Have you actually opened the domain? It is listed at Sedo with make offer option. You can see it HERE.

As you can see from that page the sellers price expectancy is €500. So you should make an offer that is lower. Maybe offer €300 or €350.
Sedo is the biggest domain marketplace. Almost everybody in this forum knows sedo.

If you have questions you can call sedo. They speak English as well.

By the way, the correct spelling is not nicarragua but it is nicaragua with a single R.

Also the domain you want was registered only 10 days ago as you can see from this page:
http://who.godaddy.com/WhoIs.aspx?domain=nicarragua.com&prog_id=godaddy

Why do you want to register a misspelled domain out of the blue that was registered 10 days ago? I'm wondering if this is some kind of self promotion tactic. Maybe the OP expects somebody to buy the domain at sedo for €500 and then to sell him for $1000. Weird situation.

Warning to all:
There is something suspicious about this thread. Don't try to buy the domain for half the price hoping that you can sell it to the OP for $1000. The domain was registered 10 days ago. It is a misspelling. I don't believe the OP is genuinely interested in paying $1000 for this domain. I think this might be his own domain.

Amazing the way these scammers think and work. They come up very day with something new and I am sure there are plenty people out there which believe they can make a quick buck and fall for it.

It's actually quite brilliant because whilst it is a scam it is really praying on the predatory instincts of domainers.

Unfortunately when you get some of the more honest people it fails.

My first inclination - along, it appears, with Erdinc and Johname is to try and be helpful. This is total scam fail.

I think, in way, it's nice to see that there are genuine people in the forum who want to help.. before the scam is exposed. I think the expecation is with the reputation of domainers that someone would try and take advantage of the OP with a quick flip.

Truth is - if someone fell for this scam I'd have a hard time having any sympathy for them.

Respect to those who posted for being honest, thorough and then making sure no one fell for it.

THANKS YOU SO MUCH ERDINIC!! I just know about webdesing not the server stuff, the guy who bought the domain is a co-worker, I asked him after seeing that whois thing and he already bought the domain,it was such a relief i tought i have fucked up the project, we are creating a website about Nicaragua, i know we could´t actually get the domain nicaragua.com, but he thinks nicarragua will do the job. I have one question, that whois thing, why some domains don´t show the owner, and say it´s protected or something like that. I feel so embarassed because i didn´t ask him before,he is in charge of that and Search engine optimization, i really don´t get that things.

Thanks, and thanks to all you that replied so fast, it´s nice to see people that actually help you.

I have one more question, is there any API to access to domains info, because it seems quite an interesting bussines that seeling/buying domains thing. I would like to play with something and maybe build some service.

Thanks again, i hope Tomas tells me the next time he buy the domain so i don´t freak out.

simple. Go to his Whois and email him with your offer. I'm sure he'll take your offer.
