I registered my first domain today!

Just thought I would share some exciting news with you!

Today I registered my very first domain name! makemusics.com.
I am really excited about the whole prospect of trying something new and hopefully I am on the right track with this development today!

Welcome. One word of advice I have is to read a ton on this forum and elsewhere before buying a ton of domains.

I think many people have gone crazy with excitement when they first started and ended up with a bunch of domains that aren't worth the reg fee they spent.

I have to agree with stingrae and what he said above. You should start reading and researching a lot before you invest in domain names. It is very important that you understand what endusers are looking for and what makes a domain name valuable. The good thing is you have a wealth of information right here on the forum. Remember, the first sale is the hardest

Most of them above has already suggested you to read alot, and I would say read everyday and every minute because there is something or other you will get to learn every hour while you're at it!

First ever domain I registered was EzDesi,com which actually means nothing and I got it because I wanted to have my music website back in the days, actually in the year 2000 to be specific which was then dropped 2001.. and I moved on with my normal, regular day to day life forgetting all about domains and websites, but then in the year 2006 I registered my second and most precious ever (atleast to me) LoudBeats.com and it was registered again for music website purpose..

Ever since 2006 I havent looked back, and I give all the due credit to NP & DNF community for whatever domaining or development skills or knowledge I have or share with ya'll today..

My first advice is to be careful registering plural words. Nobody says "I'm going to make musics."

"Hostings" is probably the most common plural misuse I have seen (on this forum anyway).

the advice about the plural is pretty good , simple to say would you normally say 'make musics' i am suggesting the answer is no , so now you have to consider if other people would and again the answer is no , although some brandables do well ( yahoo google) just to name a few , notmally you won't sell them easliy , i think just sound it out and if it sounds not quite right , perhaps avoid , the good news is that if you only ever reg one bad name you are already winning compared to most domainers , plus there are some good names for sale here at namepros , and last but not least .......welcome ! good luck with it all
