Domaining is almost the same as playing lotto. I quit.

Year started domaining: 2016
Number of domains registered: about 40
Total spent on domains: +- $300
Number of domains sold: 1 (in 2017)
Total amount made in 2 years: $400
Profit: $100

Maybe you need to re-think your strategy, and the type of names you are purchasing.
How are you marketing your names?
Are you making use of the common marketplaces?

Also, appears to me that you've not spent much time on here looking at your nP stats?

I struggled when I initially got into domaining. I lost money and sold 1 out of my first 500+ domains I purchased.

I studied, studied, studied, and went back to the drawing board and re-thought my strategy. I tested things and found what worked well for me. Since then I've been profitable year after year. I'm no millionaire, but by putting in the work I was able to make this a good successful side income and potentially full time income soon that I legitimately enjoy doing.

Just quit, domaining isn't for everyone. Better off buying a lotto.. or even betting NFL, NBA futures.

If you want consistent income flow, do something that guarantee it. Something like mowing people's lawn or paper delivery.

Few things here...

1. Youโ€™re on top $100 rock on!
2. Domaining is almost like playing the lottery
3. Good bye for now but your stuck, you say goodbye but Iโ€™ll see you back in a few months or tears. Youโ€™ll come back we all do!

You made a profit. That is better than most people.

You need the required skills, patience, dedication, and realistic expectations.

Domain investing is not for everyone.

In my opinion domaining is like everything else in life. You get out of it what you put in it.
I got hooked on Godaddy hand reg domains in 2012, and don't even remember what my first domain was.
Spent probably $1,000 in the first year and didn't make a dime. But in 2013 I heard about this thing called Bitcoin so I went and hand registered some GoDaddy domains ,that year invested probably $2,000 and got back about $4000. But through persistence, luck , opportunity and watching trends I seemed to have got better. In 2014 I sold over $70,000. In domains in less than 8 weeks at $1000 to $1500 a pop and my portfolio only had around 500 or 600 hand regs. And this was just using Godaddy as the selling platform. I've never had any huge giant sales but at a 1000 a pop it adds up . And if I can do this with my eighth grade education I'm quite sure you can too . Just read study follow trends what's hot what's not .
You can do it , but the only person that can make it possible is you, no one else. And yes if you quit and leave odds are you'll be back.

when we started is misleading stat
its all about the hours u put in
cause what u get out reflects what u put in

May your decision be the best for you.
The "profit" you made did not pay off your invested time, at least not nowww

Domaining is a bit like diamond miningโ€ฆ โ€ฆmuch effort for a possible find.
Maybe you will never find more than nothing, maybe you will find so much that you will never need nothing more.

BTWWW
The word "DOMAIN" consist 90% of the letters of the word "DIAMOND".
Is this a coincidence???

Patience and realistic expectations...boy that's an understatement! That's something I struggled with a lot early on so I can relate to him a bit.

Not at all like lottery... It just means you did not try hard enough to learn the business and the strategies needed to be successful.

I know of no other business that gives you a higher return on investment. I have had instances in which I spent $9, $15 or $40 and flipped the name within one week for about $1000. Some others here have a different approach and strategies and make that or even more with their investment.

Getting to know which names are valuable, how to get them, where to get them, how to sell them, etc., takes time and effort. This business can be very rewarding, but if you come into domaining thinking money will come to you effortlessly, you're lost from the start.

Your stats are like a joke.
3 years and just reg 40 names, spent only $300.
IF you think that you can become a successful domainer with those stats, so it's better to buy lotto than domains.

That's true. I will have to rethink my strategy, when/if I return. I used to send emails (a lot of them) to potential end users. Also, I have paid for featured listings on Godaddy several times. That didn't help. My domains are listed on Sedo, GD and Uniregistry.

What names are you purchasing? Are you sticking to specific niches?

Good thred

If you have made a profit you now cant not make a profit as you sit in what domains you have as your domains have been held for a while now and if you have sold a domain for a third of your investment already you are going to start making a return on your investment this year - stick with it
