I purchased a domain from auctions but it's banned by Google. What should I do know?

Let's search Google.
You can request Google remove it from black list.

what nmridul said + put a small page on it with some content. Just so they index it as well!

Actually, domain may have sold due to this problem.

Now you can do the same, if you are finding hard to get your domain indexed, then you can resell.

1) Request Google to unbann it
2) Try and sell it at a loss
3) Consider it as a lesson learned

Good luck!

there is no going back. Once your site is banned it's banned...Nothing you can do about it except for killing the site with all it's content, start all over again with the right content and re-submit for consideration. You can even transfer the domain to another name and tell google you just bought the domain fresh.

If I'm not mistaken you can verify the site inside Google Webmaster Tools and submit an appeal from inside there. If you submit an appeal and explain the situation from inside webmaster tools the site may get unbanned.

Use netoctave's link above to submit a request for reconsideration. A good idea to put some genuine content on it first. Make it personal and real, like a (real) blog.

I've done this with several names, and it has always been successful. In one case, the name even got its PR3 back.

I think people worry too much about this issue. It's not the end of the line for the domain, especially when you are a new owner. A bigger concern would be spammy, illegal or porn backlinks - they don't go away so easily.

They often won't respond to your request with an email, so you'll have to check to see if it's back up yourself.

Before you make your reconsideration request, disavow the links and put a comment in that you purchased the domain (if possible, include a link to the auction, but in the comments part, of course) and then found out that it was banned. This step is in case it was banned due to bad links. It's often not enough to just request a re-inclusion, but if you show them the auction and they can see the change in registrant details in the whois, that will help show that it has changed ownership.

Some further information in a Q&A Danny Sullivan did with Matt Cutts.

Just make sure whatever site you put up complies with the guidelines (no keyword stuffing, for example and don't have any "placeholder" pages, just ones with content), so they don't decline it due to "site quality issues".

Good luck.
