I was able to successfully purchase c r o c . i o this month after months of negotiations with an Afternic Broker for only $15k USD. I'm thrilled with my purchase and I honestly think I got it for a really good price considering Efty James' sale today of seel.io for quadruple the price.

I find it a bit funny that everyone is posting on a valuation of the domain. He bought it for personal use not for flipping, as described in his comment. He is the end-user and domains are always worth whatever the end-user will pay. It's like getting your first name or your handle in a TLD you like.

What's the point of the thread then ? If they bought a domain for personal use for a fee they can afford why is it open for comment? Why even ask for feedback? Just bragging or open for comment - which is it ? What does o.p. care what anyone else thinks ?

Surely not an investment to sell straight-off-zee-bat but an asset to develop into something profitable. No-one in their right mind is going to pay $ 15000 or anything close for that crock of a domain name. Then again, stranger things have happened. But I'm convinced we are dealing with some-one who doesn't have any cashflow issues due to significant inherited or otherwise accumulated wealth and can therefore afford to get drunk and do silly things (albeit with their own money).

I guess people are not reading as below they talk about you trying to resell it when you clearly stated above their posts that it's for personal use. The value is in the eye of the beholder you may have got a good deal although they are some domainers that might disagree. Funny how no one reads that you got it for personal use. Even, so TM should be careful.
