If a .com domain name sold for $3000 how much do you think that same domain name but with the .net extension is worth?

Thanks

probably nothing more than reg fee

value doesn't automatically descend down the tld food chain

To go along with what Biggie said, value of the .net doesn't necessarily correlate with the .com. It depends on the name and the demand for it.

On generic keyword domains, I usually consider .net holding less than 5% of the .com value.

It depends on the name.

If it's a common word/product, it will have value, but nowhere near the value of the .com.

If it's a brandable term, then there may not be value exactly.

But you cannot ask a question on value based on a sales prices of .com, without mentioning the name.

It depends on the name. Maybe it is worth alot, maybe it is worth nothing.
There are many popular examples: general LLLL.com vs general LLLL.net

I add to Mr Bigge

Value does not automatically descend the tld food chain

but it automatically ascends the tld food chain

that means if dot net name sold for 1000$ , you automatically assume that the dot com is worth definitely at least 10-20 k$

but there is a lot of exceptions to this rule
