Why are you so stupid?

I hate you. >:(

@Everyone who bids days before auction end time.

Now everybody has the domain on their watchlist :xf.cry:

Because of you >:(

How can someone be so dumb.

You've invited more competition, if few people saw the auction you would've had better chance at winning it for cheap. How stupid you are. :xf.frown:

Call me stupid for winning names I like and have a top proxy bid for.

You say "hate" it's so harsh.. A different vernacular would have been better.

I wish GD had bid handles so that we could see who is placing these bids... It's a self-sabotaging approach for sure and I seldom see "bidder 1" win any auctions, as they tend to get outbid by latecomers.

How about snipers like me then, I bid in the last few seconds

I asked about snipers earlier via a thread I opened.

So do Sniper software exist for Godaddy or Sedo? or do you need to hire someone to make one?

I hate those registrants who renew their names in the last ten minutes of an expired auction, and just after I have posted a $1 BIN.

I wonder if the software is precise enough for me to bid in the last few seconds. I used to be able to get my bid on in Ebay in the last second of an auction. :)

Yes it's best to bid on snapnames.com on the last day, avoid NameJet bidding altogether, and wait for the closeout. You might get away with the auction on Godaddy but you probably won't. And completely avoid dropcatch. This strategy will increase your odds of success dramatically.

I generally don't get it, either. Although, how many times have we all meant to go back to an auction and bid towards the end and totally forgot about it? There's just too many things (venues, ending times) to keep track of them all.
How about we make the ultimate auction house, where we could bid on names from all auction houses via some API?

If you are like me, and your max bid is $1, then you have to leave it to the last minute. :)

My last 4 auction buys -

SingleParentCruises.com - $1
BitSteep.com - $1
UKstoves.com - $1
BridgesOfLondon.com - $1
Vortar.com - $1

Oh wait - that's 5, well you see why I have to stick to a $1 limit.

I did go mad and buy HostingProducts.com for $5, as I have a project for that, and one of those dreadful early bidders had put a dollar on it days before it ended. :)

Some folk simply want to own a name before they have won it, a decent sized first bid may be enough to scare off some of the competition, I have been to "real world" auctions and just left my hand held high to scare off other prospective bidders, they can see I want it and will already be holding my hand up for the next bid. As for domain names, just do a proxy and accept the end result ..... either way. Good news there are plenty more to be had if you lose. Funny post though

If I know I will be out on vacation for a fews days I put my bids in advance.

On GD there is no such things as "snipper". When a bid is made the clock goes back to 5+ minutes.
That's how all auctions work, treasure

Not all, in fact I don't usually bother to bid if I can't snipe the auction.

Name silo has no extending auctions, but they have that "max bid" scheme, that if played right, you can get names for cheap.

I hate all that bid. I should get all the domains everyone stop bidding let me get them all i need money to feed my cat.

bidding days before is just a rookie move, just gives the heads up to those who are just watching for names with bids.

Frank Schilling usually bids days before auction end time, is he stupid?

no but he tends to bid on names that would get lots of bids anyway.

Auction must be for premium domains only. How many products are sold at auction in offline life? Think the life if we had to buy beer in auction, instead of BIN. The same logic is valid for all low priced items. Auction is for high priced items only. If a low priced domain is auctioned, early bids may increase the end price. But early bids do not really affect the end of price of premium domains. Because after a certain bid level (say, after $10k) , number of bidders will decrease seriously.
