Ugh I hate good domains wasted, where the owner makes a stupid site like this:

agoodhost.com

Thats not too bad, at least he has development plans for it. Most of the other premium dictionary keyword domains have websites with no real use or are just parked.

Fancy sex.com ? :)

My buddy has a primo generic that says, "Coming first quarter 98' ".

He literally forgot he owned it for almost 10 years until I inquired about the domain last fall. :)
.

 I bet he got a nice surprise when you reminded him, did he sell it to you ?

How is that a waste?
It's going to be used, and the current owner is saving all the time wasted by the "ooh, maybe I can get this on the cheap" people lowballing him/her.

Purple.com is used, the owner uses email and has sub-domains in use IIRC. If I used a generic for a personal site I would probably keep the main page light and unlinked to the rest of the site to save on bandwidth.

I was just asking him about it. I did not offer to buy. :)

I don't like to buy from domainers. It's not my preferred method.
.

I'm with you there.

Rick managed to talk him round where everyone else failed though. he missed the world cup in Germany though, that alone could have set him up for life

What a sad landing page on AGoodHost.com

as for purple....
Try and catch the FAQ's link in the middle of the purple page
you have about 2 seconds to click it before it disappears...
