Hello, i have found a new way to find available one word .com domains,
i already got list today with like 10 unregistered words.. i can get more and more everyday.
but my question is what if the word was not so good or not so popular word ??
in this case what about the value of the domain ??
what is the least value of the one word .com domain ??
should i register any one word .com domain with feel of trust and with no fear with ignoring how much popular is the word??
thanks

There are a lot of unregistered useless Word.com domains, and even more useless registered ones.

Unless it is a popular word, or has some use it doesn't have automatic value just because it is a .COM

I agree.. There are plenty of obscure one word names available.... If they are a word that very few people have heard of, it is a worthless domain...

You'll want to check Google Adwords Keyword Tool for the number of monthly searches of the word/phrase (two-word .Com domains and one-word .Nets can be great registrations). Also confirm that the word/phrase has some commercial value. What would the buyer of this domain do with it? How would they turn this into a developed site? How could the buyer make money?

If you could buy beachfront property in Miami or Fort Lauderdale, would it be worth something? What if the property were a couple of blocks away? What about beachfront property a few hours hours north? What about property 30 miles west (swamp)? Would you want to buy property with alligators, snakes and mosquitos as your neighbors? Just because a domain is available and one word doesn't mean anyone will ever pay you money for it.

i remember when nearly everything was labelled as 'one word dictionary' and they were all crap , do you think after that after all is said and done on this forum you have found the golden pot at the end of the rainbow before anyone else figured it out ....sorry but you would be wrong , good luck , be wary what you reg ! pay a bit more in the aftermarket may be better option

actually, i was working on program for weeks, and i just finished it, with this program i will be able to find a lot of unregistered dictionary words easily.
So for now the program building small list for me, in the next few days i will register the nicest 2 or 3 words from the list, and i will get back to you guys to ask about your opinion :)

Check the Google Adwords Keyword Tool and value to register some one word domains with more than 3500/4000 searches/month. But only if they could have a clear commercial value, like objects or common concepts.

Well after all this posts i was so confused when i was in the time to register...
I was unable to choose between the popular names with the commercial value and the other names with the high monthly search .
For example i registered Alcoholate.com. as you see it have very high commercial value in case of it has only 720 monthly search result on google keywords, beside Alcohol has 13,6 million monthly search.
And in the same time i have alot of words got more than 3000-4000 monthly search but it is not so brandable and not so much popular as i guess !!

so what do you think, was i right when i registered Alcoholate.com ???

In reply to Alcoholate.com, I don't see the value in it...Who would be the end user? You might be able to resell a couple of these for $20 or so, but I think you might get stuck with many that you can't...And you should also consider how much time you are spending trying to locate these weak one-words..I just think all of the good one-words are registered.

well you have only 75 posts, so you looks like new in this domaining business like me... about your opinion i agree with you 100%, but i don't agree with you about Alcoholate.com domain part !!!!
how come you don't see any value in domain like this ?? !!!
can you imagine how much could Alcohol business owners pay for one dictionary word domain like this one ?? !!!!

I can't see any end users buying this name either, sorry about that. Would be nice to see some of the other one-worders once you have regged them, and see if they're any better. But with alcoholate I can't see there being any interest, it just isn't a recognizable word to most people, and doesn't look that brandable. Let us know if you get any others.

PS: the above poster may only have 75 posts, but join date is 3 1/2 years ago so that person has been domaining for a few years and, whether or not you agree with him, shouldn't have his opinion discounted as a beginner.

But I am impressed with whatever software you've developed to come up with these dictionary words; even if you don't find any fantastic one-worders, it might be adjusted to find some better two and three word names with good search results?

I wouldn't judge people's experience by the amount of posts they have. I know some domainers on here who only have a couple of hundred posts but have been in the business for 15+ years and own some premium names worth a lot of money.

Some people only purchase 1 or 2 names a year but they are big names, possibly worth 5 or 6 figures and only come on to get an appraisal out of curiosity.

So I would just take peoples appraisals and be happy they made some comments

dont see any value in the name myself.

Alcoholate - maybe you get high xx or even low xxx, but I think you will struggle

Good luck though

when i comments about the 75 post i didn't mean any thing at all, i just shocked when he said it have no value, and since iam a newbie in the domaining i just had that wrong idea about every one word domain worth something valuable. and that what made me think about he is newbie like me :)
and here we go after this post i know now that there are alot of worthless one word domains..
about your comment about better two and three word names with good search results, i can do that , but the problem is until know i face a serious real problem in determining the nice good words that supposed be great for the web sites names !!
so for now i will try to register better 1 or 2 one word domains and i will get back to you guys with the result

Everybody, even the richest domainers, has registered or acquired bad domain names at the beginning, sometimes even spending lot of money. So don't be too much worry about your purchases, this forum helps a lot to understand what domains are valuable and what aren't.

Who's writing has acquired a LLL.mobi for $150 few months ago.... and wasn't at the beginning!! :D ahahhaha

Some services provide free lists of unregistered one-word .com's ... SaveSpell, for example. But there's a reason these domains are available; all the experts see no value in them.

Sorry but you are dreaming.

Alcoholate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alcoholate

Alcoholate can refer to:
  • the crystalline form of a salt in which alcohol takes the place of water of crystallization.
  • a tincture, or alcoholic extract of plant material.
  • an alkoxide, the salt of an alcohol.

Now that's an obscure dictionary word that nobody uses. I cannot remember using that word once in my whole life...
There is no market for names like this. Plenty of similar, useless keyword domains available in .com... and they are unregistered for a reason.

no problem, good luck with the domaining

If you arent sure, I would reg them at Dynadot and then put on here and get people's opinions. If you change your mind, you can grace-delete the domain for credit and buy something else with that money.
