Do you get much traffic?
If its high traffic and a good niche, you can usually name your own price.

Try by covering your own costs first :]

I agree with everything else that has been said. Another thing you can do is go an search for sites that are in the same niche as yours, and see what they charge for advertising. If you feel your site compares with theirs in terms of traffic and value, then adjust your site's rates accordingly.
