I guess the logical thing would be to contact the holders of that same name in other extensions. Make sure that the name you are attempting to sell is not trademarked :blink:

If they don't already have a mobile website, you could try to explain why it may be beneficial for them to have one on a .mobi domain. Alternatively, if you're a good salesman and they already have a mobile website using m-dot, /mobile, .wap, etc, you could try to convert them to using a .mobi -- there are many posts in the following thread which may help you do that: http://www.namepros.com/dot-mobi/573133-is-mobi-really-dead.html

I can't really comment on success rates as I've never tried to sell a .mobi domain to an enduser, however I really don't see how approaching the enduser should be any different than doing it in most extensions -- most of which endusers have never heard of. You'll probably need to sell them on why they NEED your domain.

it will be very difficult though
its very hard to get thru to right person, get right price , even hear back when you have a great .com, .co.uk tbh

chances are at this stage even people who should have heard of .mobi in IT depts, haven't, and general public by and large haven't either so i wont say dont try, but ur email will probably be spammed

the reality is the same for 99% of domains in the simple sense that they will come to you

if someone makes up their mind they want a domain or need it and know a bit more knowledge about 'our world' than most in their field then you have a chance of an enduser sale

same way if you have a busy/successful site, advertisers find you and pay well, rather than taking crap from adsense

thay have approached endusers and sold quite a few .mobis for good money
