Hello everyone. I have recently acquired a domain name that can hold significant value but only to those involved in a certain niche. How should I go about it. Should I contact all these businesses related to the niche if they are interested or should I talk to a broker instead?

If by acquired you mean handregged, then there is a high chance you are overestimating the value of the domain name.

That said, reaching out to potential endusers is a viable domain name investment strategy.

Yes it was, but I just feel like it may be a rear case for this one.

First, knowing the value of the domain in the market. Then, start contacting all these businesses related to the niche if they are interested .

Thats what I am confused on. Like I will try contacting them but they are already registered businesses with a chosen name for them. Why would they be interested in my domain when they have already decided and registered a name for their company/business?

They won't.

Unfortunately your name does not have any inherent value.

There are zero companies using this as their brand. And other than slightly hinting at Warner Bros (a trademark issue) there is no use of this phrase anywhere in culture or commerce.

Do tell me if I am correct but the best chance to sell a domain is to buy one that has keywords related to many brands correct? But not completely as to avoid trademark issues?

Something like that. Study what people name their businesses. Buy names like those.

cartoonbros (brothers). I can only imagine you viewing this through rose-colored-spectacles. Whichever way you try to go forward, I can only see a lesson in the nature of rejection letters and zero page views.

If you are new, and not experienced with outbound sales then I would not recommend reaching out to any companies. I would also edit your post with the domain to something like c a r t o o n b r o s / com so it doesn't show in searches.

A company that is interested in this domain will go to a registrar and type it in, or type the url directly. The best method is to set a buy now price on the landing page and wait patiently.

If you reach out to an end user you already are at a disadvantage leverage-wise. It is better to wait for them to come to you and you have the upper hand in negotiating. Or, if you domain is priced well, they will hit the buy now button.

I would price this one at $4995 and cross-list it on Afternic, Sedo, etc.

It may sell in a month, or it may take 10 years. It's like fishing, set it and forget it.

I'd like to add, as others have mentioned it's not a top-tier domain. It's only registered on a single extension (.com) and even Cartoon Bro .com is available still. So not much demand. I see there are some Google results for that term so those are potential buyers.

However, this is a name I would have passed on personally.

That said, it won't hurt to put a buy now price and see if it sells in a year, if not you can always drop it. Best of luck!

I checked namebio and I think you actually have a chance with this one. I thought its no good but after searching for sales with names ending in bros, I think if you price it at 1988-2988 and make offer, you can probably sell it but you need to wait, it could take several years.

cartoonbros.com
"Look up 'coherence' and tell me if any of these domains have coherence: ClockPizza.com, CarCactus.com, TablePenguin.com, ShoesBanana.com. If you even hesitate to answer, look up the word 'bankruptcy.'"
