I`m new to business and i`m a bit confused about the correct end user email

My process is:

1-check for company website at ThomasNet.com/Manta.com/ yahoo ad directory aka Overture

2-check Whois at Whois.sc

BUT i found that most ( if not 90%) of companies` domains are registered by 5-6 domain companies and i get more suspicious when i see the website owner owns about +100 - 1000 other domains

3-Check their website again for a contact us email and most of the time i either find the technician email or just a contact us form

what do you guys do when you collect Correct enduser emails??

& When do you know that the email in front of you is a useless one??

You pick up the phone and call the company in order to obtain the name of the decision maker and his/her E-mail address.

Linkedin is another good resource.

That would qualify as phishing.

Really ? To me it's a routine inquiry, it's just like you are a supplier who needs to get in touch with somebody in charge within the company.

When you say "in charge within the company", that's more likely the secretary-from-hell, or the marketing division guys.

I'm not very experienced with domaining, but I do have a good head on my shoulders and a knack for figuring out ways around problems.

linkedin is one of many good places to find decision maker. Simply googling the corporation name is great as there are a ton of corporation directories, organizational charts and wiki's out there. Even Secretary of State websites with business registration and principal information.

Once you get the decision makers names, google their names and the company name together. Sometimes you will find their email.

Google the "Email" or "Contact" + the company name or the decision maker name.

Go to email-format.com see if there are any email contacts showing the format documented there for that domain.

If you cant find the specific decision makers email, find their name + the email format for their company usually works.

If all else fails, and you end up having to use a contact form or a generic info@ or sales@ contact, use your subject line or opening of the message to notify whoever is reading that this message is intended for the name of the decision maker and to please forward to their attention. Might want to follow up with a call about the email to push the gatekeepers to relay the message.
