How to get my Link Popularity "UP" with Google ?

Hi, I have recently launched a website and have been building backlinks. I have close to 500 backlinks...But my link popularity with google is "0". Can anyone suggest what i could be doing wrong ? Thank you.

Keep building backlinks and keep adding content. When the next Pagerank update occurs your "0" Pagerank will be hopefully increased

Try to obtain as many backlinks from relevant content pages as you can, i.e. If you have a page about dogs then it would be effective to have a backlink from a page with content related to dogs as well.

If you would have a page about dogs and you get a backlink from a page about cars your backlink would have minimum impact for your Pagerank but if you have a backlink from a page related to dogs then you have a relevant backlink and better chance to get a higher Pagerank.

You can have a link to your website added automatically to http://autolink.t0j.com by putting the IP Address Display gif at http://www.sendmyip.com on your website.

It might take up to one hour after someone visits your site before showing up in the link list....
